LOVE this place! They have great food and good prices. The wait at night to get a table can be lenghy sometimes, but it's well worth the wait. If you've never had their tomatillo sauce-DO! It's hot and full of flavor! ...read more
La Jolla Mexican Restaurant
By Executor at Citysearch June 01, 2010
I decided to give this place a try after reading that some people like it and I almost die out of salt overdoses and chips that tasted like wood. Service was awful to say the least. The waiter mix up orders with only 6 people in the restaurant at that time, the cook was probably high on tequila, it's the only explanation for so much salt on the food, the rice was absolutely tasteless, water from the pipes would taste better I think. I learned my lesson. I WILL NEVER, EVER be back in that place unless is to teach the owner how to run a place like that! La Jolla, worse mexican food in Indy, no question about it... ...read more

Acapulco Joe's Mexican Foods
By Gma at Citysearch October 16, 2009
There is NO better REAL mexican food in this city that can compare to Acapulco Joe's. A lot of us remember Joe visting with us when he had the Diner across the street. His mexican food is totally best. I have been going to this place for 34 years. We usually go when there is something to celebrate. (or we think of something to celebrate and go to Joe's) It's the queso to the Joe style tacos that make it. Anyone that disagrees needs to live with the new black tacos at Taco Bell and has never visited Mexico. Because this place is ROCKS. Long live Joe and Kate Smith!!! ...read more

Acapulco Joe's Mexican Foods
By JazzGrrl at Citysearch August 12, 2009
This restaurant was chosen by a friend who I arranged to meet after work. I had my doubts because it had been quite some time since I had been there, and I didn't recall being that impressed even then. When I walked in the door, and toward the counter, I was rudely cut off by a waiter who practically stepped on my toes in order to walk past me....and it was all downhill from there. The chips were stale, the salsa sucked, and the entree was even worse. I ordered the tamale dinner, and ALL of it; tamales, rice and beans were just terrible. I didn't know that it was even possible to mess up rice and beans, but apparently it is. If A.J.'s wants to take a crucial first step toward improving their cooking they should start by losing the &%$#* sugar bowl! ...read more
La Hacienda Mexican Restaurant

You have to look far and wide to find a more satisfying meal than their chips and salsa, followed by an enormous bowl of wonderful chicken soup! It's heavenly, and stuffed with stuff, and a joy to pig-out on! ...read more

Acapulco Joe's Mexican Foods
By CSMobileUser at Citysearch April 20, 2009
Expected better of a prominent downtown indy mexican restaurant but no dice. Wait was long but servers could've cared less to do their job. Sat downt to hold a sticky menu and to have placed before us cold, stale chips. After a quick glance at the over-priced dishes, we made quick exit. Our serve probably didn't even notice we cut out. Thanks Joe but no mo. ...read more

3/27/09 2:15pm visit....cashier/hotess sat us in area with no waitress. Help from Kitchen area notified us and moved us to area with waitress coverage. When we went to pay, hostess/cashier would not put down her personal cell and/or stop talking on it to cash us out. She actually stopped more than once, and concentrated on call during transaction. Won't bother to go back and spend my $$ to help pay the salary of rude help like that........!! ...read more
