I brought my ring in under warranty to tighten the tension of the centers stone. When I picked up the ring from being 'repaired' a sliver of the stone was missing and the white gold from the bezel setting had more gold sloppy slapped over the damaged stone. I've been in three more times to have it fixed, the stone replaced, and the entire ring replaced. All I've gotten is attitude and excuses and still have a completely mauled engagement ring. Only one sales associate cared to help and my ring was still returned to me in an unacceptable state. The next sales associate was rude, questioned my story as if I were lying that their jeweler was responsible, when in the end I have a warranty any way. Completely disgusted and going to the BBB. ...read more

Thomas J Christenson Jewelry Designs / C H Jeweler . Engraver

Tom by far is the greatest jeweler to work with! I am long overdue to leave a review but after admiring my ring and my husbands over our vacation this past week I felt compelled to not only refer anyone and everyone I know to see Tom but I must put it in print. My husband went to Tom with a vision of an engagement ring he had designed for me on a napkin and Tom brought that napkin ring to life with such great precision. I am told daily how great my ring is. Tom helped us shop for the diamond we all want but maybe can't afford and he made it happen for us! I also had Tom design my husbands wedding band and it is just a piece you don't see everyday, a true one of a kind! Give him a call and set up an appt. before you lock down some boring ring every other Indy gal has :) ...read more

How to buy fine jewelry for your features and skin tone by Harry Gaunt

Choosing the right jewelry to buy can be a tricky, confusing and sometimes even frustrating experience. The following will help you choose the jewelry to buy based on your skin tone and your face shape, two factors that crucially affect your choice. Ultimately, buy what you love- these are just some guidelines! 1. Pick a metal and complimentary color: Metals: Cool skin tones favor metals such as silver, platinum, and white gold. Warm skin tones favor metals such as gold, pewter, brass, and copper. Complementary Colors: Cool skin tones favor stones such as white pearls and diamonds. Stone color should focus on jewel tones such as pinks, purples, blues, reds, and magentas. Warm skin tones favor stones such as coral or golden toned pearls. Stone color should focus on more earthy tones such as browns, oranges, greens, yellows, peaches, corals, and also turquoises. 2. Consider the shape of your face: Heart/Inverted Triangle/Diamond Shaped Face: Earrings: dangle or drop earrings help to lengthen the face. Necklaces: chokers help contrast and soften the sharp angle of the chin. Round/Square/Triangular Shaped Face: Earrings: try elongated shapes such as ovals, or angular shapes such as rectangles. Square shaped faces look particularly well in teardrop earrings. Necklaces: look for necklaces that elongate your face, typically necklaces that extend below the neckline (28" to 32"). Rectangular/Oblong Shaped Face: Earrings: choose short or round earrings to contrast the longer face shape. Necklaces: chokers, especially if you have a long neck. Oval Shaped Face: Earrings: dangle earrings (not too long), preferably angular shaped. Necklaces: can be either long or short (if long neck, than choose a shorter necklace) ...read more
