Though the company seems to provide average service regularly to its customers, they do not have a customer service attitude when it comes to problems or issues. Our furnace takes a non-standard filter. We were told by the service technician to ensure we tell the scheduler of this need so the technician will put on his truck. We did this when we scheduled a heating inspection this year. The technician showed up without the filter. He did, what he said, was the inspection and then stated he needed to ""run and get"" the filter. The house was vacant (rental) at the time and therefore me, and my 2 young children, were left standing in the yard for almost 2 hours awaiting his return with the filter. Then, I learned the next week that the pilot light on the furnace was not on and the gas was off. I called to ask the company how it was possible that they inspected the heat if there was no gas. I was told someone would call me back. After 2.5 weeks of no return call I called again because I needed a plumber. They scheduled the plumber and apologized for no return call about the furnace and said someone would call me back. Again, no one called me back. The plumber (who was great) came to the house and he mentioned the AC unit. I told him that I was awaiting a call. He made a call and someone called me back immediately and scheduled a time for the next week to inspect the furnace. Unfortunately we were in an accident and did not have a vehicle to driver the almost 2 hours to the house to meet the technician. When I called to change the appointment the staff was less than pleasant and stated that they would no longer honor a ""courtesy"" inspection because we were not due another inspection on our contract until after September and our contract is up in September. They stated it was our fault for cancelling and that they would allow one more inspection on this contract after September as a courtesy. They became very agitated and less than pleasant placing all the blame on us for rescheduling and not being available on their schedule. We will finish out our contract with this ""courtesy"" and then we will do them the ""courtesy"" of taking our business elsewhere. I have used Rickel Electric for two jobs on my house. One was a simple job of mounting a tv on a wall and running some wires. The other job was running a ton of audio cable, external power boxes, and av/tv wall installation. On both jobs the work was done way ahead of time and was extremely professional. Travis was about as professional and customer oriented as one could ask for. It was very irritating however that when the lady called me at 10am to say Travis was on his way the day of service, she had no idea I was suppose to be scheduled from 12 to 3. I obviously could not be there before 12, so Travis had to go to a different appointment and couldn't make it to our rental property until after 4. Again, I would recommend Travis to anybody, but for my appointment to be scheduled the night before, it was pretty ridiculous my appointment block of time was either not written down anywhere or not communicated to anybody. ...read more
I just can't show this picture enough! It was taken in Michigan, however, could easily be a picture taken in Carmel. It is a picture of a garage that had a water line burst while the homeowners were on vacation. After the water line reputured, unfortunately, temperatures dropped below freezing turning the garage into a frozen nightmare. Not the scene that you want to find returning from a relaxing vacation!As the holiday season is fast approaching and folks are planning vacations, don't forget to plan on protecting your home while you are gone by taking the following easy precautions: Turn off the main water shut-off valve to your home. Open cabinet doors of all bathroom vanities and kitchen cupboards to allow warm air to heat the pipes under the sink. Secure windows, crawlspace openings and basement doors to keep the cold away from your water pipes. Remove hoses from outside hose spigots. By doing these few things, you will be able to enjoy that well-deserved vacation and not even think about calling a plumber or about AttaBoy Plumbing Company!
