Gailey Eye Clinic

1.0

By Max2001 at Citysearch

All I can suggest is going to a different group--one that is based locally. Gailey is a corporation, where their objective is making money, not accurate patient care. They prescribed glasses that were completely wrong and different from any prescripted glasses I've ever had in my life, and then wanted to tell me what I could and could not see. The optician gave me the glasses without fitting them. Aside from the receptionist, it was poor customer service all around.\t\n\t\nThe doctor I saw ran a bunch of tests. When I asked about the cost, they said they didn't know because the billing office is in Bloomington. I agreed, and said I'd talk to the billing office myself. Took over 3 weeks to get any answers, but I did get their full bill in that time. The person in the billing office explained that she'd have to call the Springfield office to talk to the people there about a decision.\t\n\t\nFYI - if you do go there, you talk to the doctor and office manager about the costs. Better yet--just go elsewhere like I said at the beginning. ...read more

Henderson & Posegate Eye Center

2.0

Went here for my 5 yr old's eye exam. He is a very shy boy and anything new pretty much scares him. They did not do a very good job of helping him. It took 2 visits to get his eyes checked. They say they deal with kids all the time, but apparently not young kids. Even with the 2nd visit, the readings weren't exact, because they bascially just went by the measurements of his eyes. They even said that the check-up was not exact. They didn't take the extra time to try and get him to read the letters and use those readings because he was taking too long. They initially start to get him to read but when he was taking too long, they pretty much cut it short. My insurance covers eye exams and should only be a co-pay. I got a bill 3 months later with the full price and there was no explanation if the insurance denied it. It just shows total charge, insurance $0, and then apparently it took $30 from my credit card which I don't remember getting a receipt for it. My copay is $10. Don't take your kids here, especially if they're young. They are not trained for it. It probably wouldn't be bad if you're and adult and don't have insurance and pay cash. ...read more
