The Nutcracker All Jazz'd Up presented by DCDS In Motion November 23 at 7pm & 24 at 2pm at Riverton Fine Arts Auditorium . This fun and upbeat twist on an a classic will feature wonderful choreography set to funky fresh Nutcracker music performed by the dancers of DCDS In Motion. DCDS In Motionis a children performance company established for the dancers at Dance Creations Dance Studio. Our mission is tocreate an environment for our dancers to expand their talents, enjoy performance type activities, and learn priceless lessons by participating in various projects to help others in our community. To date DCDS In Motions dancers have raised over $5,000.00.00 for the Illinois Capital Area Chapter of The Red Cross, The Share programs at both St. Johns Hospital and Memorial Hospital , and The United Breast Cancer Foundation. The proceeds from this event will go directly to The Make A Wish Foundation in honor of one of our very own dancers, Liliana Marchioro. Liliana was diagnosed withAcute Lymphoblastic Leukemiaalmost two years ago.Lils has had to undergo a very long series of chemotherapy, steroid treatments, and other procedures. As of September 2012 Dance Creations Dance Studio began calling a new place home. Because of our continued growth, moving to a new largerfacilitywill allow us serve the community better. The new location is 600 East Ash Street, Suite (Corner of South Sixth Street and Ash). We are very excited about the new location and hope all of you are too!! In addition to new fitness classes, DCDS is adding music classes this fall. Piano, guitar and drum classes as well as group music and movement classes started in Septrember. In 2008 a performance company was established to allow our dancers to the opportunity to give back to the community with meaningful performances that serve a purpose to help those in need in our community. To date, DCDS In Motion has donated hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars to The Local Red Cross and The United Breast Cancer Foundation. DCDS is now in it's 22 year of business. ...read more
