Also, it's funny how the care and handling of a Spa changes from careful to hasty when the sign on it changes from For Sale to Sold. I watched someone warp the bottom decorative outside finish of a $10,000 Spa that was ALREADY SOLD, by improperly using a Lifter when moving it from the front to the back to prepare for delivery. They did nothing about it and it went unmentioned to the customer. I don’t know if whoever purchased it ever noticed but it was a good 5 inch bubble with a massive dent under it that was clearly shaped like the bar that was used to lift it. This business couldn't be farther from professional. The owners Ed and Dianne try to make as much money as they can with doing as little work possible. They instruct their employees to never allow customers to know what they paid for a produt because everything they sell is priced at double what they paid at a MINIMUM. They also instruct their employees to never use suppliers names in front of customes because some of them sell to the public and they don't want their customers to know they can get the same product cheaper elsewhere. They use shady business tactics like opening a small store near illini pools, and trying to undercut what they can of illini pools prices. And they don't want their employees to wear pool center work shirts when they work at what they call the "north store" because they would rather the public assume both are separately owned businesses they can shop between. It wasn't rare for me to hear a customer say, " I know my prices, so i'm going to shop elsewhere." and then watch them walk out. I'm amazed they stay in business. But it seems the primary customers they get are people who don't care if they get overcharged or not. (very unwise no matter how wealthy you are imo) ...read more

After searching and talking with several pool businesses in the area after a storm severely damaged our pool last spring, the Pool Center has been wonderful in dealing with us and all the red tape with insurance. Ed took the time to listen to us and was quick to respond to our needs. He and his people are knowledgeable, professional, and dont cut corners.
