i live in the city but take a drive to St. Charles probably once every 2 months for business and i always make it a point to stop @ Sushi Yama. This place has great Sushi and is a good place for lunch. Very clean and cute. I recommend to everyone that lives in the area or surrounding to come here and enjoy Sushi Yama for lunch or dinner. I just moved to the area from the city and was driving aound one afternoon to check out the restaurants and businesses in the area and stumbled upon Sushi Yama. Walked in for lunch and checked out the menu and decided to order.\t\n\t\nThe waitress was very kind and patient with me while i decided on what to order. She offered me some good tasting tea and asked if there was anything else i needed while i waited for my order. \t\n\t\nI ended up ordering the teriyaki chicken lunch combo and was NOT disappointed. Went to Olive Garden in St. Charles,IL to celebrate Valentines Day with girlfriend. Waited an hour for dinner,which was no problem we were in no rush and sat at bar for drink. Sat down and order our dinner. We order appetizes, salad, they came and were fine. We order our main course: Chicken Parmigiana and Steak Gorgonzola and waited and waited. Two couples came in after us and order their dinner and left before we got ours. It was too long. On top of that there was very little heat in the restaurant, we sat next to the window and you could feel the cold coming in. Our dinner arrived after a hour and the plates were very hot. My chicken parm was overcooked. My girlfriends Steak Gorgonzola was the same. We figured we waited so long because our waitress either forgot to put our in on time, or our order was lost in kitchen. had dinner there last night and it was HORRIBLE. the cucumbers in one of the rolls had moles!! I would've posted the pics if possible. I have to dissagree with the othe review , we have been going to sushi yama for the past few years, and Never have we been ignored, and Never have we seen othe people being ignored. If anything you will have several servers stop by your table to make sure all is well, including the owners. The food is excelent, and always fresh, service is wonderful. 1st visit recently, went for a appetizer and martini I ordered a martini $9 , not great price but seems like the going rate. The martini menu was quite small and I asked the bartender if one could be made off the menu, he said no. I ordered a blue hawaiian. I have never seen such a small martini glass ever! Half the mixture was left in the shaker. How can they advertise themselves as a martini bar? I may not have felt ripped off if the pice was $4.50 but $9 was ridiculous! Found one close to me in the city when the Chef, Khun Toom and her husband Wayne ran a restaurant on Lincoln Ave. Unfortunately, they closed down and moved out to the suburbs.
