I took this information from Dr. Bill's site and pasted it for your information. Follow him directly via www.medtruths.blogspot.com Monday, January 18, 2010 Evaluation of Breast Health Here is an abstract from a presentation I gave in 2007, to the of Thermology (AAT). The international thermographic meeting was held at , and I reflected upon my 35 years of working with thermography. I recalled seeing a presentation by Dr. Atisumi, Professor of Cardiac Surgery at . He presented at the 1983 AAT meeting, giving a formula for blood flow measurement by thermography. Having been credited with the first successful heart transplant in , Atisumi was an expert on circulation. He explained that physiology of the breast by infrared imaging is unique, in that as a skin organ, the breast's function and growth is best monitored by its blood flow. Determining, that when it comes to measuring blood flow, thermography is an accurate tool (if not the most accurate available). In order to understand why monitoring blood flow in the breast is so important, just look at a handful of times the breast presents changes in blood flow: 1) growth, 2) injury, 3) pregnancy, 4) endocrine manipulation, 5) mastopathy, 6) infection, 7) neoplasia, 8) ingestion of drugs. By being able to detect these changes in the breast, thermography is the greatest help in endocrine management of 1) PMS, 2) measuring birth control medicine effects on the breast, 3) fibrositic condition, 4) early target-drug theory in angiogenesis in neoplasia, 5) most accurate prognosis of survival, 6) beneficial effects of the target drug, 7) early diagnosis of inflammatory carcinoma. With all these uses, it should come as no surprise that since 1972, all conditions of the breast have been studied with thermograms, worldwide. Thermography can discover major physiological information to be interwoven with ultrasound, MRI with gadolinium contrast, x-ray, and diaphanoscopy. So, if you are to take only one thing from this abstract, know thatthermography is the most important exam in declaring the health and function of the breast.
