not a very complying landlord. when my wife and i first moved in, the appt was never even cleaned, thee was no smoke detector (which is illegal), but we were given a couch. not a perfect one, starting to peal leather but still nice. we just blew off the fact that the place was not clean and cleaned the place ourselves. we continued to live then for over a year. that summer, our fridge stopped cooling like it needed to. we called to landlord and he informed us that someone would be coming out to look at it. and 2 weeks later someone does finally come look at it. this man tells me the fridge is bad and we will need a new one and that he will inform that landlord. weeks go by and no one comes. after about 2 months we rufuse to pay our rent until we get a new one. the very next day we get a new fridge. finally! a few more months go by and we found out we are having a baby. so its time for a new place. so from the whole 2 years we are there, we only asked for a new fridge, we always payed month on time, and were never loud or rude tenants. after we find a new place. we begging and pleading for our 600 dollar security deposit back for over two months (45 days being max return date) and when we finally got it back it was only 200 dollars! a 225 cleaning charge and a 150 dollars for a couch that was there when we first moved in! plus 200 dollars of that security deposit was on automatic return as long as dogs did no damage. and in the first month we moved in we got rid on one of the dogs. we also put in a dead blot in the door,two new cabinets up in kitchen and left a smoke detector there and did not charge YOU for them. something needs to be done sir.
