After months of unpacking, renovating, and redecorating, Studio E is formally open for business! I operated out of my Dennison, IL, home for quite some time and specialized mainly in senior portraits and sports action photography. Last November, I made an offer on a beautiful 1885 building that once housed the Marshall Herald newspaper. My family and I moved into the contemporary loft upstairs early this year and finalized the paperwork in early March. Although it sounds cliche, it was really a dream come true. Studio E offers contemporary reportage-style wedding coverage.I try to distinguish my studio from others by capturing true emotions as the day unfolds from start to finish. That's a bit different from the usual contrived poses one often sees. Of course, I still take requests from brides for traditional formal shots that are popular with family members, young and old. My pricing is in the mid-range for this area with three basic packages, one for formals only, one for ceremony and formals only, and one standard all-day package. Brides may opt to add extra time, a second photographer, a slideshow, or a custom designed album. I also offer an album design service for brides who used another photographer and own the rights to their digital files. Seniors sessions are my absolute favorite thing to photograph. As a high school teacher, I spend a great deal of time with teenagers and am in tune with their interests. I take a fashion approach to senior photography and try to blend the traditional yearbook-type studio shots with ideas one might see on the pages of Vogue. While seniors may opt for one of the traditional packages, Studio E offers three special, all inclusive lifestyle packages with ample time, unlimited photos, and unlimited outfit changes. I encourage seniors to bring props that are meaningful to them, like letter jackets, sports equipment, or musical instruments, so I can capture the essence of the individual. Studio E also offers portrait sessions for engaged couples, families, children, and pets. We cover events as well, including sports teams, reunions, school dances, National Honor Society banquets, and high school graduates.
