The Home Depot Installation Services

2.0

By Judy Cook

My elderly mother purchased carpeting for her living room and linoleum flooring for her kitchen on September 5, 2009. For 2 months her rooms were torn up. The installation kept being delayed for a variety of reasons such as, "The carpet you ordered has been discontinued and is backordered" and then, when the installers did NOT show up on the day they were supposed to install we were told "No one ordered the adhesive when they ordered the linoleum and it has to come from China, and will take 2 weeks to arrive". No explanation for why they did not CALL and tell her they were not coming. It was one fiasco after another. When the installers finally came, they made mistakes which had to be corrected. Finally, after 2 months, the flooring was in acceptable condition. That was the end of that - no compensation for all the time-consuming repairs and poor customer service. We will never recommend anyone purchase anything other than off-the-shelf items which do not need installation ...read more
