Freeport Animal Hospital

I have only had good experiences here. To me the Dr.s & staff seem very caring and professional. Their prices are much less expensive than any other vet I've ever used. I do believe that this is budget animal care though. If you want to pay an office visit fee everytime u come (there isn't one here) & u want all the possible tests run everytime u come (they don't unless they think it's necessary), then find another vet. All in all, I'm very satisfied and think the volunteer work they do is amazing. ...read more

Freeport is lucky to have the Animal Hospital and the staff and doctors associated with the facility. We recently adopted a rescue dog that was saved by the clinic. They could have easily put the dog down due to the extensive serious injuries. Instead the doctor diligently performed the time consuming surgeries and this little puppy has a new lease on life. Since then we have become customers and find the staff compassionate and competent. An asset for Freeport and a true care givers to ALL animals. ...read more

I took my dog to be neutered here after finding out they cost much less than other vets in the area. I had also had a few personal recommendations to have the procedure done here. I took my dog in, who will sit when told "down". The office assistant took my dog, forced him to sit by yelling at him and then when I offered that he listens to other commands, she let me know she got it taken care of. When I got my dog back later that afternoon, he threw up 3 times after getting home, was bleeding and still drugged up and couldn't walk well. I ended up calling the local vet at 10:00 at night to come take care of my dog because he needed to be bandaged up for the bleeding. I'm still not sure if he is healed correctly but I am afraid to take the dog back because it was traumatizing for both of us. While the doctors take in animals and help place them in homes I think they may need to expand staff so the animals can get a bit better care. ...read more
