About Elburn, IL
Elburn is a village in Kane County, Illinois. As of 2006, the population was 4,751. Elburn is located at the intersection of Illinois Route 38 and Route 47. Elburn's first settlers arrived in the area in 1834. The area expanded with the arrival of the Chicago and Northwestern Transportation Company in 1854. Elburn remained relatively rural for some time, but during the 1990s the village saw rapid expansion, with the installation of track housing and passenger rail service.The biggest schools in the area are Kaneland John Stewart Elementary School and Kaneland Blackberry Creek Elementary School. Northern Illinois University is 18 miles away in DeKalb, Illinois.
