Log Cabin Inn

1.0

By rosemcgovern at Citysearch

It was a little after nine when I arrived at the Log Cabin Inn on a Saturday night. I thought it was just about dead with no more than 30 people in the entire place but was informed that is actually busy for them. That was my first clue that I should have picked somewhere else. There were several of us in a group out together and most of us struck conversations with those around us. We noticed that if you were intoxicated or didn't speak a lot of English your drink cost more and the bartender kept your change. I wasn't the only one to catch it and we paid closer attention until we actually blantantly caught her doing it and pointed it out hoping for a good explanation. She told us we were wrong, then switched it to "this is how it is if you don't like it you can leave". We were finishing up a round and had every intention on leaving. One lady in our group went to break a 20 and was told she wasn't going to be served any longer. The bartender told her she was a distraction to the patrons. A distraction? She's very pretty and was getting quit a bit of attention and the bartender felt that was a distraction. What kind of way to run a bar is that? We asked to speak to the manager and she said there wasn't one. We left and called to speak to the owner and she said it was the owner who told her to do so, but then wouldn't let us talk to the owner. This place has serious discrimination issues. I wouldn't go back if it was the only bar in town, ever. ...read more

Hilton Garden Inn Chicago-O'Hare Airport

My Husband and I were looking for a hotel near the Rosemont Theater, We came across this Hotel online at the hilton website. I LOVED this Hotel, The room is very spacious and very clean, The Jacuzzi is huge, romantic, and very satisfying to all bath lovers. The room also includes a seperate bathroom with a large shower. When we were ready to go to our show, the complimentary shuttle took us to the theater, free of charge (we tipped the driver) and picked us up after the show was done (at 2:00am and again free of charge)and took us back to the hotel. We purchased the ""LIfe's Great Getaways"" deal, which includes a free buffet/cook-to-order breakfast for two, which was delicious. Service was very professional, polite, and welcoming. It was a great deal at a low cost. ...read more
