The village of Cisne, named in honor of Levi Cisne, who was influential in building the railroad and the station around which the village grew, is located in Wayne County, Illinois. Major attractions within minutes of Cisne include Cedarhurst, a 00-acre estate that includes the Mitchell Museum, a sculpture park and nature trails and the Jefferson County Historical Village, which is recreated village that includes two log cabins, a log jail, a one-room school, a newspaper and print shop, a blacksmith shop and a log church. One of the best places to visit when you are in Cisne is the nearby, 3,103-acre Stephen A. Forbes State Park, with a 585-acre lake and picnicking, swimming, fishing, boating, water skiing, horseback riding, camping and trails.
