I have nothing nice to say about these women. Dr. Cox cared for me through out my pregnancy only to wait until 3 weeks before my due date to let me know that she, or the other doctors will not be seeing me because I am one of Jehovah's Witness. She says "this practice doesn't accept Jehovah's witnesses because you guys don't accept blood. I'll talk it over with the other doctors and I'll keep in touch with you, but I don't think we can see you anymore". I went out and searched long and hard for a new doctor to deliver my baby, which was hard because what doctor would want a patient at the last minute whose going to deliver in 3 weeks. I called back to Dr. Cox to have my file faxed over and they thought I was crazy. Dr. Cox says "you don't have to leave I'll deliver your baby, and I'm totally comfortable with you not accepting blood." I decided to go through with it. I had my baby June 2013. I went back to discuss birth control with Dr. Cox and everything went well. I took a home pregnancy test March 2014 which was positive. I called Northwestern specialist to make an appointment and the first thing they do before I can make an appointment is send me to the billing department and force me to pay 30% of my bill before I can make an appointment. I paid and made an appointment and one week later the counselor calls me to say "Hi, we understand that you are one of Jehovah's witnesses and do not accept blood so Dr. Cox said that she will not be seeing you.
