We had AT&T for a couple years and never had any issues. It cost about $60 a month for a LAN line and 3kbps of internet on a good day. It worked, so we never looked elsewhere. Then we moved to Urbana where we couldn't get the same internet service-- it simply wasn't available at the same speed, so we decided to give Comcast a try. Comcast was cheaper for better internet and now we didn't have to waste extra money on a LAN line phone. So we switched, called AT&T to cancel our service and started up with Comcast. Unfortunately, it's been three months and we still get a bill for $60 every month from AT&T. Their customer service robot never connects me to the right person and the people I talk to obviously don't care about their customers. I found added to my phone bill a bill for Enhanced Services Billing for $16 supposedly for internet service. ESB is not my internet provider so I called ESB and AT&T requesting that they remove that item from my bill. It reappeared the next month. This month ESB no longer is charging me, but AT&T is still trying to get me to pay the $16. I think AT&T must use ESB as a way to get more money from customers who don't read their bills carefully. ...read more

They didn't get my address right when I signed up for DSL. They sent the equipment to the wrong address. I had to go to FEDEX to get it myself. At that time I gave ATT my correct address. They didn't get it and instead sent my bills to the wrong address. They canceled my account. I called to straighten things out and pay my bill. Two months later a collection agency calls me to tell me the account I paid was turned in to them. The collection agency still had the original incorrect address. Wow. ATT sucks. ...read more
