Darnfar Sheep Ranch & Dog Trng

After getting to the facility yesterday at 1pm for the Board and Train drop off and seeing how in disarray it was I began getting an uneasy feeling about leaving my child (dog). After talking with Robert I liked some of what he was saying and was unsure of some. I decided to go against my gut and go ahead and leave my dog with them. After leaving I was reading over the contract (yeah should've read it before I signed it and left) and it may be a standard training contract but I didn't like it. It basically said that they'll do their best but if anything happens to your dog or your dog damages another dog, person, or property they're not responsible. So you're dropping your dog off in their care and trusting them to take care of it and protect it from harm, but their contract says they don't have to. We called later yesterday evening and didn't get an answer or a call back. The whole thing ate at me the rest of the night and all this morning so we decided to go get him. Called to let them know we were coming and still no answer. We get there to pick him up and there's no water bowl in his kennel, and the food we dropped off for the stay was unopened. We fed him at 8am yesterday and they hadn't fed him before we picked him back up today at 2:30pm. We got him home and he drank a whole bowl of water and we fed him. I'm not sure how good of trainers they are if given the opportunity, but if withholding food and water is the way they do it, I don't want to find out. On a side note, in the hour or so we've had him back home he's done more growling and barking than he's ever done. Hopefully all goes back to normal in a day or so. Others may have had good experiences with them but the whole thing just made me uneasy. ...read more
