Julio's Grill
By The Gremlin February 14, 2011
It was hard choosing between Jimmy's Breakfast platter or the candy mountain with cantelope slices....So I just went with the double cheeseburger. The service was excellent as they upgraded my fries to CHILI CHEESE fries at no extra cost! My wife was a bit afraid to eat here due to the fact that they just flat out jacked Denny's Gran(d) Slam breakfast. Not to mention some small spanish child delivering sour cream & mayo. Most importantly, Julio's saves the lives lost children. RECOVERED! ...read more

Lorenzo's Bistro

Save your money and don't go to Lorenzo's in Aurora. The spaghetti tastes better at the Olive Garden!!! The salad was ok at Lorenzo's. But the bread was stale and they took away the cheese and oil once they poured it onto a plate for you. The lobster ravioli had had hardly any lobster in it. and it was served on a bed of what seemed to be once frozen spinach which was served with the stems, mushy. It was drenched in Lemon as well so the little bit of lobster that was in there you could not taste. The spaghetti was hot, but watered down with no flavor.Once we told the waiter how everything was after he asked us we told him. The service which was great suddenly took a left turn as he tried to argue with us.Telling us the food was great. Must be us..... All for $50.00 with no drinks! They need to replace the cooks they have in the back and get some real Italian Chefs. ...read more

My family and I have been eating at Lorenzo's since it first opened in 1994. Back then we would take our kids, who would have been 4 and 6 at the time. Now they are older and my husband and I find ourselves going there often when the kids have other plans with friends. Back when the kids were young, they always loved going there. As they got older, they still loved it and chose it for pre dance dinners. I have always been a believer that you should never judge a restaurant on one night. As someone who has been to Lorenzo's twice a month for the past 14 years, I think I can vouch for the quality of food and service. My husband and I have had every meal, except the seafood on the menu. (We aren't seafood fans.) We've occasionally indulged in the specials too. The food at Lorenzo's has always been terrific, and we have never left disappointed with our meal. In addition, there is so much food that we usually get to enjoy the meal again the next day thanks to the leftovers we bring home. The service is good, available at the right times and unobtrusive. The owners are friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is comfortable, relaxing, and romantic. Lorenzo's consistency has always impressed me. It is our favorite place to eat. ...read more

My wife and I have been to Lorenzo's four times and have enjoyed ourselves each time. It is a very warm and comfortable atmosphere that is not overly loud and boisterous. My wife loves the bellinis which are peach or apricot sauce mixed with champagne. I take the chance to order a very nice Itailian beer called Peroni which is similar to a nice pilsner with a little more bite to it. The bread and oil is fantastic and I like the fact they freshly grate the cheese and put a little cracked black pepper in the mix. If you want pasta, this place has some of the best pasta combinations I have ever seen. The Gorgonzola pasta is the best pasta I have ever had and the portion size is usually for two or more. What really sets this place apart from a lot of other Italian restaurants is the fact that they are a steakhouse as well. My wife had the filet and I had the New York Strip and they were both amazing. They were tender and exactly cooked to our specifications. The tirmasu is also very good. The service gets a little lazy now and then, but not enough to say that it is bad or subpar. Overall this place is a find for poeple who love casual dining and knowing they are going to enjoy a meal where almost everything on the menu is sure to please. ...read more
