Byron Pederson Promotes Image Boost for Tax Relief at Conference

National Association of Tax Debt Resolution Companies to Meet in Washington, D.C.   POST FALLS, Idaho – May 7, 2012 –Byron Pederson, co-founder of Idaho-based Instant Tax Solutions, believes the May 2012 meeting of the National Association of Tax Debt Resolution Companies will be a great opportunity for tax resolution businesses to begin to work together. Over the years, the industry has suffered from negative publicity due to certain tax relief organizations, Byron Pederson explains.   According to Byron Pederson, the National Association of Tax Debt Resolution Companies formed to discuss and combat challenges in the industry. This union brings together tax relief experts from around the country, Byron Pederson adds, with an emphasis on strengthening fairness in the tax resolution industry for taxpayers.   Among other items on the agenda, the organization will choose its board members at this meeting, Byron Pederson states. Budgetary issues will be discussed, as well as initiatives to increase membership. According to Byron Pederson, several speakers have been invited to discuss issues relevant to the industry.   Byron Pederson points to several major changes that are impacting the industry as a whole. One is the implementation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). As Byron Pederson explains, the CFPB protects consumers by regulating debt relief companies. One of the areas of regulation for the agency is the regulation of “debt relief services,” with tax services specifically mentioned as one of them.   The National Association of Tax Debt Resolution Companies is working hard to ensure legitimate tax resolution services are aware of the changes that this new regulation will bring. Of course, for honest businesspersons, nothing should change but Byron Pederson wants to make all of those in the industry aware of proposed changes.   Another change impacting the industry is the Telemarketing Sales Rule passed in 2010, according to Byron Pederson. As Byron Pederson explains, the Federal Trade commission has so far held that tax resolution services aren’t subject to the rule, which imposes strict regulations against telemarketing fraud.   The rule prohibits companies from imposing up-front fees, reports Byron Pederson. This could be a problem for tax problem resolution services operating honestly. Partly in response to legislation such as this, Byron Pederson and his colleagues formed the Tax Problem Resolution Services Coalition.   These issues and more will be discussed at the National Association of Tax Debt Resolution Companies inaugural meeting, which will begin May 20the, 2012 in Washington, D.C. Karen Hawkins, Director of the IRS Office of Professional Responsibility, will be on hand to discuss regulations in place for those representing taxpayers in front of the IRS. The American Society of Tax Problem Solvers’ Larry Lawler will discuss education requirements for professionals in the tax problem resolution industry, according to Byron Pederson.   With this first meeting, the National Association of Tax Debt Resolution Companies hopes to bring tax professionals to the table to share their ideas. By coming together, tax resolution professionals can begin to make a difference in the industry,Byron Pedersonexplains.   For more information about Instant Tax Solutions, visit them online at www.instanttaxsolutions.com ...read more
