About Eastport, ID
Eastport is a small community located in Boundary County. The county is named for the fact that it borders Canada. Boundary County is known for sponsoring the Boundary County Fair every summer in August. When in the area, be sure to visit the Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge in nearby Bonners Ferry. Outdoor lovers will enjoy spending some time in the parks of the area. A nice one to visit is the Priest Lake State Forest. Ski areas located within 60 miles include Mount Spokane, Schweitzer, and Turner Mountain. Universities or colleges located within 80 miles of Eastport include Gonzaga University, North Idaho College, Spokane Community College, and Whitworth College. For resident students of the area, they attend the Boundary County School District. There are two private schools located in the area and they are the Boulder Creek Academy and the Northwest Academy. Local businesses in the area include US Department of Agriculture Agriculture Research Department; H E Ladwig, located on Highway 95; and W Y Moberly Inc, also located on Highway 95.
