The crash was reported at about 2:06 p.m. at 3041 E. Copperpoint Drive in Meridian. Sgt. Matt Parsons said the woman, who was in a small sedan, did not have an emergency; she simply hit the wrong pedal, or was unable to hit the brake, he said. Neither she nor her female passenger were seriously injured. The impact on the building's wall damaged a four-foot section inside, Parsons said. He estimated the damage at less than $5,000; the damage to the vehicle was minimal. The investigation into the crash is ongoing; she will not be cited because the crash happened on private property. A Meridian police officer who was responding to the crash was in a collision a few minutes after the first crash was reported. The officer was traveling south on Eagle Road, with lights and siren activated, when he entered the intersection of Overland Road. He had almost cleared the intersection when he collided with an SUV traveling east on Overland Road, Parson said. The front of the cruiser hit the front driver's side of the SUV. Two women in the SUV were transported to the hospital with minor injuries, Parsons said. The officer was taken by a sergeant to the hospital to be checked out. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. The Ada County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash."
