This is a gold nugget of a business: the type that belongs on the same street as a trolley car, the real McCoy of what America was built on and what I thought we wanted to recover - I certainly do... the type of business whose owner and staff will waive a few cents if you're a loyal customer or you're on hard times. If you want the shiny happy people and price of another type of "Box" store, they are a'plenty. This is like the barber shops that are fast dwindling - it is among those precious few "third places" where they know you by name, go the extra mile, and are right there to take responsibility and accountability. it's not for everyone, but that's because we've become afraid of what a real workplace looks like - the no cubicle no-frills, pragmatic environment where a good days work always comes with the appreciation of a smile and a sincere "thank you"; If Boise and America really want good jobs that allow us to live simply and adequately in a caring community, buy here, ...read more

I am very pleased with the service I have received over five years as a customer. They are even willing to forward your mail wherever you want. The only dislike I have is the short hours they are open; but they have families and for a postal service the hours are normal. ...read more

Boise Mayor Dave Bieter Shaving Head for Charity This Friday

Boise Mayor Dave Beiter Shaving Head for Charity This Friday At the hands of Camp Rainbow Gold Kids * Public Welcome *   BOISE, ID. –On October 2, Tom Beeles, President of Allied Business Solutions will present a check for $25,149 to Elizabeth Lizberg with the Camp Rainbow Gold program. Following the presentation, several children that attend Camp Rainbow Gold, which is a program of the American Cancer Society, will then shave Mayor Dave Bieter's head. The money was raised through Allied Business Solutions' Helpful Happy Hour event held on September 17, 2009. The Mayor made a deal if $25,000 was raised, that he would shave his head. Now its time! The event is open to the public and will be held at Olivers Salon downtown Boise, this Friday at 3pm. "We were so excited that we had such a great showing at our Helpful Happy Hour, then to be able to raise over $25,000 to win the bet with Mayor Bieter, that just made my day!" said Tom Beeles, President of Allied Business Solutions and coordinator of the Helpful Happy Hour.     About Camp Rainbow Gold When you hear Camp Rainbow Gold, you may hear about silly skits around campfires, a child catching their first fish or discovering the Big Dipper in the night sky. Maybe you learn about how volunteers come together for a week each year to help 85 children shrug the stress of living with cancer. No matter the story, you hear – and feel – what happens when people come together to enjoy nature and friendship, to let kids be kids. But there's more to Camp Rainbow Gold. What started as 15 campers has grown to 85. What started as a week has grown into a year-round program that supports and fosters children who have been diagnosed with cancer and their families. Camp Rainbow Gold is an oncology camp, a sibling camp and a family camp. It's a hockey night, a football night, a ski day, a teen support group and a college scholarship program. Camp Rainbow Gold is inspiration and unity. Camp Rainbow Gold is a celebration of life.www.camprainbowgold.org About Allied Business Solutions Allied Business Solutions is committed to delivering state of the art product and software solutions at the lowest possible prices to Idaho and Oregon companies. HELPFUL HAPPY HOUR SUCCESS - MAYOR BIETER TO SHAVE HIS HEAD OCTOBER 2

For immediate release Friday, September 18, 2009 Media contact: Elizabeth Lizberg Childhood and Family Services Director Camp Rainbow Gold 208-422-0842   HELPFUL HAPPY HOUR SUCCESS – MAYOR BIETER TO SHAVE HIS HEAD OCTOBER 2 The first annual Helpful Happy Hour was attended by over 300. The Happy Hour included music by Brandon Pritchett, a lively auction by Larry Flynn, great food provided by Papa Joes and most importantly the success of raising over $25,000. You got it, Mayor Bieter is going bald. Mark your calendars for October 2, 2009 at 3pm to watch Mayor Dave Bieter have his head of lustrous locks shaved by one of Camp Rainbow Gold's campers. Raising the $25,000 was a challenge but as the presenter of the event Allied Business Solution's Tom Beeles stated "not near the challenge that these children deal with when diagnosed with cancer. Though it is a bonus that Mayor Bieter will have his head shaved what really feels good is that due to the generosity shown by our community a ropes course will be built for the incredible children that attend Camp Rainbow Gold."  Camp Rainbow Gold is an American Cancer Society program providing a variety of activities and events for Idahoan children and their families. Free to participants, Camp Rainbow Gold hosts three separate summer camps, family gatherings at sporting events, activity days, support groups, a college scholarship program, and referral services. The non-profit got its start twenty-five years ago as one of the nation's first oncology camps and it continues today to highlight the lives of hundreds of Idaho residents. For more information or to volunteer or to be a camper at Camp Rainbow Gold, call (208) 422-0176 or go to the Web site at:www.camprainbowgold.orgor send an e-mail to:camp.rainbowgold@cancer.org. Written by Tom Beeles, owner of Allied Business Solutions of Boise, Idaho USA in conjunction with Brent Johns of Indian Creek Web Design.  ...read more

A word from the owner of Allied Business Solutions - Tom Beeles

Increasing employee longevity leads to a more knowledgeable and engaged workforce. In your company, who do you go to when there is a unique issue that needs immediate resolution? In most cases it is someone who has been with the company quite some time. With this one instance in mind it doesn't take a great leap of logic to realize employee turnover can be detrimental to the success of a business. Even so, employee retention is frequently overlooked in management-workforce relations. Beyond the obvious, there are numerous other costs associated with employee turnover. One of the less obvious is time expenditures by management and the new hire's co-workers assisting with training. This can greatly impact the productivity of everyone around the new hire and not just that single position. Even with great training and incentive programs, if there is no connection or relationship between management and the workforce it doesn't take much for a competitor to hire away key employees. The difference is loyalty and an engaged, connected management team fosters loyalty. Good managers always try to put themselves in the other person's shoes. Putting forth the effort to truly understand where an employee is coming from can make a tremendous difference. That underperforming employee may not need a reprimand, they may have a legitimate grievance they haven't felt comfortable disclosing and it impacts job performance. Spending a little time really listening can help uncover the hidden issue creating the obvious problem. Recognizing the people you work with for their value to the company is important but recognizing them as people is even more critical. Giving back to the people that make Allied Business successful is something we will always do with sincere appreciation. ...read more
