I had several issues with my feet. I'm not diabetic, but still have neuropathy, as well as plantar fasciitis, feet that splay and pronation. The clerk at The Fitting Place listened, measured my feet and brought me one shoe. He knew EXACTLY what I needed and he was EXACTLY right! These people know feet and know shoes. ...read more

I have lived in West Des Moines my entire life, and have given my business to this Valley Junction shop for that reason. However, I have had extremely varied results, from OK to HORRIBLE. I have a large collection of "cowboy" boots and have had many of them resoled or repaired. Most recently, I brought in an extremely expensive pair, and asked for 1/2 inch heels to be put on to replace a lost one. The least of my worries was that the heels put on were too large and uncomfortable to walk in. My soles and upper heels were tan wood and leather and the rest was matte black leather. The boots seem to have been spray painted a gloss black all around, completely ruining and turning them into a pair of boots I would only take into the mud. EXTREMELY unhappy. ...read more
