Regardless of my opinion to be professional – I was VERY UNSATISFIED with everything. To this day I do not understand why I did not fire this attorney. Worst decision I have made in a while and I firmly believe if my case was represented by someone else, I would’ve been more satisfied than I am now. I constantly had to call her to try to be informed and yet was not very informed. Every time I called I spoke to the paralegal and not the attorney I hired – she was either on vacation or on lunch – Never returned phone calls. I am paying her so I should have her cell number, right? Yes. When the negotiation to the settlement did not go as planned she hesitated to take it to court even though the case was very strong she talked me out of the court issue and talked me into accepting the offer even though I kept saying no she kept telling me “I think this is the best we can do” it was the 2nd offer! – HORRIBLE experience. DO NOT HIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Emily Carr handled our case, personal injury due to car accident that was not our fault, even though we signed the paperwork to hire her she was not planning on doing anything for my family, just my grandmother who broke her hip. Had to force her to do anything for us, and never countered for us or anything, it was all about my grandma. Barely broke even with the settlement we recieved and never recieved any copy of the paperwork concerning us, just did it all without our approval, but once again got copies on EVERYTHING with grandma. Filed complaints everywhere I could about her, including with the iowa bar, but never heard anything back, so don't know what happened. Requested copy of the file after it was settled and could not believe what she did and did not do with our case. Wanted to sue her, but no attorney would take the case. Attorney's do not like sueing eachother. Which was good for her I guess ...read more
