About Clarinda, IA
Clarida is a city in, as well as the county seat of, Page County, Iowa. The NSK-AKS, the Lisle Corporation and the Clarinda Treatment Complex are the areas largest employers. The city is home to the Iowa Western Community College and the Clarinda Academy, a residential foster facility that provides treatment to at risk and delinquent kids from several states. Clarinda is also home to the Clarinda A's, an amateur baseball team that won the National Baseball Congress championship in 1981. Several players for the team , including Ozzie Smith, went on to play in the major leagues.
