Vacation Inspirations

Beware. Smooth talking liars. Rotten hotels. The worst was telling us that we could fly business class all over the world for no extra fee, except in the USA and Canada. When trying to book a trip, no one there ever heard of that! Master Card couldn't retrieve our $5000. Don't use them unless you like to stay in 2 star hotels. ...read more

Vacation Inspirations Paris
The Romance and History of Paris It may seem like a cliche to say that Paris is one of the must-see cities on the planet, but the fact is that everyone should allow their vacation inspirations to bring them to this beautiful city at least once. The beautifully preserved historical buildings and cobblestone streets are charming and picturesque. The Seine River offers boat tours for viewing iconic sites such as the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame. No matter what kind of plans you make for a trip to Paris, you’ll find yourself enjoying incredible history and a romantic sense of life. The food, the cafes, the museums, and the parks are simply too much for a single visit. Eating Well The French take particular pride in their food and you can be sure that meals will be a special treat each and every time you go out. Paris is an extremely tourist friendly place and often you can ask for a menu in English if you prefer. Find out just what it is you’re ordering, too, because the French eat a range of delicacies that you may or may not have heard of. Museums Naturally, seeing the Mona Lisa at the Louvre is a top attraction. If you like art and museums, you’ll likely have the Louvre on your list. It’s a busy and crowded place, and it’s absolutely gigantic, so give yourself plenty of time to enjoy what it has to offer, and let your vacation inspirations run wild. There are also many smaller museums which are worth seeing, including some that offer free entry. Wandering the Streets Make sure that you give yourself some free days, too. Wandering Paris will offer you surprises around every corner. You may find a historic church that is quiet and beautiful. Or perhaps a classical music concert from inside a church will pull you down a small alley where you can sip a cappuccino at a small cafe. Paris can offer magic, so allow yourself time for it to happen. Vacation Inspirations of the Mediterranean Variety
Vacation Inspirations: Menorca While most people have heard of Mallorca (or Majorca), the smaller, lesser known Spanish isle of Menorca seems to be off the radar. Menorca is not far from it’s slightly bigger neighbor in the Mediterranean, but in many ways it feels like it’s in a world all its own. Flights from Madrid go daily during summer and only twice per week during the fall, winter, and spring. There’s also an overnight ferry that leaves from Barcelona, to Mahon, the capital. When you arrive in the morning, the first thing you’ll see is the bay’s inlet and then the towering walls of Mahon in the light of the rising sun. Bleached white walls and tiny cobblestone streets await, as well as beaches, walking and hiking trails, and some dramatically carved river canyons in the interior. Menorca is a small island with a lot to offer. It’s best in the spring and fall, before the busy summer season of July and August, when Europeans are on vacation and the island gets a bit busier. But the truth is that it’s relatively quiet, especially when compared with Mallorca. There are many small sandy beaches where the crystalline turquoise waters of the Mediterranean will welcome you warmly. Thanks to no shortage of activities, you can let your vacation inspirations turn you toward horseback rides, kayaking, snorkeling (although the snorkeling isn’t spectacular, much like other locations in the Mediterranean), hiking, or bicycle riding. To that end, there are paths that take you around the entire island, either on foot, horseback, or bicycle, although the bicycle path is not paved entirely. Resorts, cabanas, and bed and breakfasts await tourists, ready to treat you with the friendliness and relaxed attitude of the island. Relaxing island life at it’s best is what Menorca offers, and without the crazy crowds of its neighbors. Menorca is indeed one vacation inspiration worth having. ...read more
