Hand Painted Murals for Children's Rooms and Nurseries!

Whether you are pregnant, just had a baby or have a small child; you've probably already thought about having a hand painted mural or artwork placed in your child's bedroom. It's never too soon to start introducing art to a child, much like music and manners. Children's Murals are a big part of my mural business because it's sometimes challenging finding the right decor for a baby or to have a child express what they want. Parents want to give their children everything and murals (and artwork) are no exception. The parents have such creative ideas and visions for their children's rooms and yet sometimes, it's the child that has the ideas and know exactly what he or she wants. Based on somoe of the projects I've worked on, the design process the parents and I go through when choosing the right mural for your child can be exciting! Clients surf through websites, print pictures, cut out pictures, take pictures, watch movies, and take notes so they have references to work with, creating the perfect idea for a mural. I come in to help turn their ideas into reality. I work every closely with parents (and their children), making sure we are all on the same page and that the mural I'm creating is directly reflecting the ideas they came up with.  Most Children's Murals are created because of an age, a situation and/or what's the hottest thing on the market. Here are some examples: a) that new animated movie came out last summer and the child just loves the "Princess" and now has the bedding, the clothes and the toys advertising that movie. b) a child that's two years old and is moving into their "big boy room" because their brother or sister will be born soon and the parents want to make a smooth transition.c) the first baby or the sixth baby in the family and the parents will always want everything just right. The bedding in the crib matches the lamp on the dresser, the paint on the wall blends perfectly with the colors in the toys and the mural on the wall brings all of the decor together, making it a unique and perfect room for their baby.Whatever the reason the client has, it's the right one for them. The mural is a reflection of the client, the child and the family. The mural will be around for years (I hope) so the process that it takes to make sure the mural is right for them is definitely the right way to go. I have attached the link to the page on my website for the all the children's murals I've painted so far. Now most are actually painted in children's room but there are some that were painted for businesses that have children as their main clients or customers. If you have any questions about hand painted children's murals or if you know someone who's about to have a baby, has children or knows someone who works with children as a career, please send them to the website or to this fan page. I'd love to meet them, get to know them and find out if there's a mural project in the future we can do together.http://acoloraffair.com/childrens_murals.html ...read more

Local muralist donates services to Trip Elementary

Local muralist donates services to Trip ElementaryFor two years, Nicole Dineen, the media specialist at Trip Elementary School, had been saving money from book fair sales to pay for someone to paint a mural in the media center.Reporter:By Heather Darenberg, Staff Writerhttp://www.gwinnettdailypost.com/community/headlines/96686844.htmlGRAYSON — For two years, Nicole Dineen, the media specialist at Trip Elementary School, had been saving money from book fair sales to pay for someone to paint a mural in the media center. Now she'll get to spend the money on a couch or other comfy seating, as a local resident volunteered to paint the mural at the new school.Michelle Black, whose son recently completed fifth grade at Trip Elementary, said she volunteered to paint the mural after she saw a newsletter asking for parents to volunteer in the media center. Since she couldn't volunteer her time because of her busy work schedule, Black decided to volunteer her services as a muralist."It makes me feel good to be able to donate the mural," said Black, a Duluth High School graduate who has painted more than 300 murals in two years. The mural spans the entire perimeter of the media center. Titled "A Trip through the Genres," the mural's design is based on the Dewey Decimal System. Above the different classes of books, Black is painting a related scene. Each scene contains a Grayson ram and a character holding or reading a book.Black is also turning Dineen's office into a clubhouse by painting the exterior walls of the media specialist's office."It's my dream come true," Dineen said of the mural. "It will truly make (the media center) the heart of the school ... (and) I think the media center should be the focus of the school, where people come to read and research."Dineen is currently soliciting suggestions for names for the media center and the clubhouse. To submit a suggestion, e-mail nicole_dineen@gwinnett.k12.ga.us.To view pictures of the mural in progress, visit Black's Web site at www.acoloraffair.com.http://www.acoloraffair.com/Gwinnett_County_School_Trip_Elementary_Media_Center_Mural_2010.htmlGwinnett's in , is getting their first hand painted mural in the .
