The city of Fairmount, named for Fairmount, West Virginia, is located in Gordon County, Georgia, in the Calhoun metro area. Major attractions include 343-acre Salacoa Creek Park and the New Echota Historic Site, the site of the first Indian language newspaper office and where you can see 12 original and reconstructed buildings, an 1805 store and outbuildings such as smoke houses, corn cribs and barns.
