Colonial Grand at Pleasant Hill

Except for Emily, who is at least two faced when signing up for the lease, employees like Janice & Kimberly are very insulting, careless and incompetent. Is it because of the low rent that they stack on fee after fee? Without any notice except for maybe a brief letter indicating a charge was made? A call at 5:57 when hours are until 6? Their dump is so tiny that disgusting piles of trash are outside, and they tow your car at 7 am and justify by saying they told you with a notice the night before. Working with clients are a pain because I do that 80 hours a week, but I've never been so bullied by the very people that upkeep my home. I tried to be nice, but guys, you suck. Rent is cheap and the location is convenient-the only reason I decided to stay (I regret this decision) but be prepared to get some psychological trauma from living here. Oh and, I actually lived here for 3 years back in 2007-2010. Then staff tried to be helpful and kind and I would reciprocate - what happened? ...read more

Landmark at Bella Vista

I've been living at Landmark at Bella Vista since November. When I went to sign the lease, everyone seemed so friendly. However, they never changed my carpet, they ignore me when I request maintenance, and THERE ARE SOOOO MANY ROACHES!!!! I've had to throw away many of my Sega Genesis games because roaches were living inside. They also live in my dishwasher and all under my fridge. They have invaded my bathroom. I keep my place very clean yet they don't go away. I am currently 4 months pregnant, and being forced to cancel my lease early because the bugs are making me so sick. During my time at Bella Vista I have sent 2 letters to corporate, and never received a reply, same goes for the office management. Ulma is the only person in the office who has ever truly helped me. The office managers Crystal and Diane, are always in there office on facebook or out smoking cigarettes. I assume this is why I have to call 6 times before anyone picks up the phone. I've been requesting maintenance fo ...read more

Printing deadlines. A reality check.

This is a touchy subject, and therefore, I will attempt to approach it carefully. I have noticed lately that more and more potential customers call us wanting custom printed products in an unreasonable amount of time. We have had some requests for 1000 full-color business cards, printed on both sides, with UV coating, in less than 1 hour. Seriously? The business card usually has to be designed. The customer has to approve the design. The design then has go through pre-flight, batch stagging, batch imposition, pre-press, and so on (you get the picture).  Once the first side is printed, it must dry before the back side can be printed, then it must dry again before cutting. All this takes time... certainly more than an hour... unless some one has discovered a space-time continuum and didn't tell me. It's been my experience... and I have a lot... that when a job is "rushed" there will most likely be mistakes. Why not allow yourself and your commercial printer the time to do the job right. Implications for Commercial Real Estate Financing

I've recently been watching the financial markets meltdown and have a perspective on the bailout/buyout you may not have heard yet. I see the government's $250 billion equity purchase as a massive power-grab. Ultimately, it will harm the financial channels it is getting involved in, because the government is politically motivated rather than fiscally. These brittle and mismanaged companies will require ongoing infusions from the taxpayers to stay afloat. The entrepreneurial economy demands more flexible solutions than the government can offer. Everyone ignores that there is a lot of money outside of the system that would step in and provide competitive solutions to the market. Unfortunately, the government is propping-up failed companies and their assets causing dealmakers to stay away. No matter how much money the government gives to select organizations, ultimately, new solutions will come from the private markets without government assistance. I expect to see all sorts of unconventional private capital organizations pop-up with highly flexible and highly accountable financial products to fill the gap. ...read more
