My name is PF. I first moved in in 2009, when they had a bad manager employee named **gna. They let her go along with a maintinence man that was not a good person. Since then, the Master Manager Brenda has completed a full 180 degree turn around of the property and current residents. A full background and credit check is required, so if your a bad nasty person, or later found to be noisy, disrespectful, a drug dealer or user, whino wanting to hang out front/back, you will be removed. They offer 1 2 and 3 bedroom apartments. I live in a 2 bedroom and it is VERY LARGE considering the very reasonable amount of rent per month. I have a new dish washer, washer/dryer hookups, (all electric with water/sewage included free) and I opted for the tiled flooring throughout because it makes it easier to keep clean, tho., they have wood and carpet or mixed versions available. This Is Not a HOOD complex and people are not allowed to 'hang' outside waiting to deal drugs. the Dekalb County police patrol the entire property daily/nightly. It is a safe place for children and has an onsite playground. The maintinence personel are very quick to respond to any problem such as a clogged toilet, the very same day! The area is of mixed races, majority being of black skin, but brown and white are here as well. I am one of the white persons and have been here for 6 years with (most of my friends are black culture), and have never had any problem with any persons. If you are a stable, respectable single couple, or (good parent('s)) with well behaved children, I would definately recommend Austin Oaks Apartments as a Safe, Clean, (roach free), Happy and Peaceful Place to live! :-) ...read more

if you are a 20-something year old who doesn't care about doing anything but listening to your neighbors terrible European trance music through the paper thin walls. And if you are into that then you will also love filling your lungs with the dust infused air that circulates through your vents. \t\n\t\nTop all that off with the fact that your going to have to carry all that furniture up rickety flights of stairs. That's right folks, no elevators, a little discriminatory to people with terrible knees and my grandma. \t\n\t\nAlso, the fitness center is where gym towels go to die and then run away. Don't let the sales people fool you. Half the equipment doesn't work and whoever uses the weight machines clearly drops the weights and doesn't posses upper body strength.
