The pictures depicted the essence of my store, and the voice over clearly stated the tone that I was looking for. I was really impressed with the commercial. It is not fair to place undo pressure on your friends or relatives to correctly capture this once-in-a-lifetime precious and personal event that means so much to you. How will you feel if the camera is accidentally turned off during the ceremony? Or the camera is out of focus or shaky? How are you going to feel if you can't hear your wedding vows being spoken? Or they get more footage of the newest baby family member than you and your spouse. I can share so many stories of Brides who have come to us AFTER the wedding with raw footage from "a friend" or "Uncle Charlie" as they try to explain everything that happened to the footage (or lack of). They come to us in tears and hoping for miracles in which we are as limited as the footage that walks through the door. Professional wedding videographers should have the correct equipment to not only capture the footage (cameras and accessories) but edit the footage (computer and software in post production) so you receive a high quality product that you are proud to share with your family and friends. Friends and relatives promise that their well intentions to record the wedding day are their gift to the Bride and Groom. Well, we see plenty of "gifts" of raw footage from couples that never have been able to even watch the footage years after their wedding day! By the time we edit the friend's/relative's footage that takes extra editing hours to correct, improve or enhance, the Bride and Groom end up paying close to the amount they would have paid if they would've hired us from the beginning. Expertise. Not only should your wedding videographer understand the proper coordination of capturing the critical events of your wedding, they should be proficient in utilizing the professional techniques to capture the romance. Remaining professional, knowledgeable, non intrusive and artistic should be a requirement from a focused and dedicated videographer vendor. Your guests are there to celebrate your wedding day, let them relax and enjoy. With professional wedding videography, as with so many other things in life, you usually do get what you pay for. Many wedding industry experts (including Deborah McCoy, author of The Elegant Wedding and the Budget-Savvy Bride) suggest budgeting approximately the same amount for both videography and still photography.
