Holiday Package Store On Buford Hwy

This place is worth the drive to Buford Hwy. They have a great selection of hard to find craft beers and liquors and tons great wines that are surprisingly inexpensive for their quality. The staff was very helpful and had some great recommendations. I am now a huge fan of the wines from Spain and Argentina. What a value! 5 STARS! ...read more

I purchased an Easy Care vehicle service contract 4/21/03 for the amount of $1,673.00. On May 1st, 2008, I submitted a letter requesting the refund of my money since I have abided by the contract. The letter was notarized. I did not hear from them. I mailed another certified letter on 6/30/08. I still didn't hear from them. I then called this company & was told 'that was denied because you sent it to the wrong address'. However, the letter was sent to the address which was on the contract. I was told to fax the letter, which I did. Still didn't hear from them. I called today, August 14, 2008 & was given a person's voice mail. I left a message. As it stands now, I will never buy another Ford and I will never purchase another service contract from this company. ...read more

Save your money. These jerks overcharge for everything. Every item is costlier than it ought to be. Such greed. And they are so smugly happy to take your cash. Let them know you're sick of being overcharged. Dodge this place if you can. They don't even bother to fill up their window wiping buckets and towels at the pumps. All they care about is money. Screw them. ...read more

Thumbs Up

While I love the food and atmosphere at Thumbs Up Diner, I honestly can say I was disappointed in the service given this past weekend at the East Point location. Two of us came for brunch, seated quickly in a booth reserved for 5, waitress left something to be desired (a first, so I assumed she was new). After finishing our meal I was browsing through a local paper and finishing my coffee when the waitress came over to ask us would we move to another table when a table for two came available, they had a party of 5 waiting. The problem is: we were sitting in the front of the restaurant, we saw everybody coming and going, and there WAS NO party of 5--as a matter of fact, NOBODY WAITING at all. That's never happened to me in all my years of dining out. To add insult to injury, I asked for a little more coffee to heat up what I had, and the young waitress came back sheepishly and apologetic, saying they'd stopped making coffee for the day. This is 45 minutes before closing time, and a couple minutes before others entered the restaurant and were seated. I said okay, we got ready to leave, when I walked to the back of the restaurant to use the restroom before leaving, I clearly see in their VERY OPEN kitchen that FRESH COFFEE WAS being brewed! \t\n\t\nI'm insulted because on my way there I just recommended their cafe to a friend, have taken several people, and recommended it to many more. I could certainly understand if we'd been there a extra long time, but after we finished eating, I immediately looked for a specific section in Creative Loafing, so we're talking a very few minutes before we were asked if we would move to another table when the new table was available. They may as well have held up a sign to tell us to get the heck out! We weren't rude, loud or disruptive--just the subject's of a bad judgment call on the hostess. ...read more

This little bottle shop is a gem in the center of Vinings village. Cute and cozy, the shop has a super selection of wine, liquor and craft/microbrew beer, some stuff you can't find anywhere else. They also have a cigar humidor with a nice selection of cigars. The staff is super friendly, knowledgable and helpful. When I was there getting help with wine selection for a dinner party, the manager spent a great deal of time helping me find the right wines...and then they carried my packages to my car...great service. They seem to know most of their customers by name, it's a real neighborhood shop. ...read more

Dare I say it, but I think The East Point TU is better than the Edgewood store. The "dining room" is spacious, bright, and they play excellent music at just the right volume! The food, of course, it just right. Omelets are billowy, waffles are crisp, and the homemade biscuits and jams are luscious. They also smoke their own chicken onsite, and hand-batter and fry the chicken tenders that come with the totally-sinful-but-great-hangover-food chicken and waffles special. Coffee is neverending and service is focused and friendly. All this and a great mix of people make this the perfect weekend morning spot. ...read more
