French Influence

1.0

By SadieandJason

We purchased a table from French Influence. When we received the table it was cracked severely at the base and the stain was uneven on top. We contacted the owner who said that she would replace the table at no cost and would ship it to us at no cost as well. Over a month later I had not heard from her so I left a voice mail. She called back and said that she made the table, but that it was a little different from the first table. I asked that she send pictures. She sent pictures of the new table on 8/12 and it looked different than our original custom order. I called and left a voicemail with my concerns about the differences on 8/16. She never called back. Almost two months later she attended a furniture show a few hours from our home and called the day after the show was over for the first time (10/4) saying that we should never come near her because she spent money to bring the table to the show and back to Atlanta. This was completely bizarre considering we never knew that she was going to the show and never arranged to pick up the table. I called her to find out what in the world she was talking about and she yelled at me and hung up on me. She refuses to pick up my call to discuss the matter. We are stuck with a poorly stained table and a very cracked base. We would have gladly come to pick up the new table to save her money on shipping. I am shocked to say the least. My guess is that she brought the table to the furniture show and then sold it. She never let us know that she was attending the show nor did she call us while she was there. Her first phone call was an extremely rude and highly unprofessional call THE DAY AFTER the show was over. It does not add up to say the least. It was a complete waste of money and I would highly caution against working with this company. She was extremely friendly at first, but in the end we are stuck with a very poorly crafted table and out our money. ...read more

Peachtree & Bennett Auction House

In 1952 Harvey Braswell opened a small used furniture store and auction in Amarillo, Texas. A strong southern antique market encouraged Harvey to acquire his inventory from the Northeast. Progressing relationships with shippers led the Braswell family to migrate to the New York area where Harvey Braswell continued his business with the southern market. Harvey’s son, Gary Braswell entered the business buying antiques and shipping them to the south. In the mid 1980′s the southern market calmed, prompting Gary to open Braswell Galleries in Norwalk, CT. Braswell Galleries has grown from a small local auction house to one of the Northeast’s largest antique and auction centers with over 40,000 square feet of antiques and decorative home goods available for auction, wholesale and retail purchase.Braswell Galleries has been selling in the Atlanta area since 1988 and is pleased to provide a full array of services at our new Peachtree&Bennett; facilities located at 200 Bennett Street ...read more
