Reviews of Frenchie's Italian Restaurant
Ode to Frankie and his Wonderful Capallini Marinara!!
As I approach Frankie at the register to pay for my to go order of his wonderful Capallini Marinara, I get soooo excited! I can not wait to devour this hearty, rich, garlicy creation that is so popular. When I get my order, I open the container and sprinkle tons and tons of roasted garlic on it then seal it up. I grab a few pieces of bread and butter to go as well. Then I drive back to my office while constantly looking at my order and guarding it with my LIFE to make sure it doesn't fall off of the passenger seat! I get to my desk, open the container that has the most wonderful meal that I've ever eaten in my life!!! CAPALLINI MARINARA!!!! Angel Hair pasta with hearty homemade marinara sauce, peas, black olives, tomatoes, fire roasted peppers, and roasted garlic. Alot of you complain that you have to wait in line for your meal, but come on, it is DEFINETLY worth waiting for. If you have never eaten at Frenchies or ordered a to go meal, you are definetly missing out. Plus Frankie is hilarious! He always cracks up jokes to keep everyone laughing and in positive spirits. He definetly has a gift. Long Live Frenchies!!!!!!!!!!

This restaurant is a little price for those of us on a tight budget, but it's worth every penny!

The service was exceptional, the food was hot and excellent, the Escargot was perfect and the wine (Sonoma-Cutrer) was heavenly and the price was reasonable, especially for the quality! The wait staff treat you as if you are part of their family - I have not had this plesant of a meal experience in a very long time!\t\n\t\nWe will return - SOON!\t\n\t\nLen and Deneen Ward

Don't let the name and simple location fool you! This is by far one of the Greater Houston Area's most authentic Italian kitchen! Amazing pasta (al dente of course) an increadible sauces. Don't miss a chance to meet Mr. Giuseppe, one of the owners, who is a very charming and will make you feel like you are in Italy! They also have a more formal restaurant nearby called Villa Capri, which is also just as delicious and is perfect on a romantic nicht out! Buon Appetito!!!

The service is TERRIBLE. We were seated and ignored. It took twenty minutes to order. We didn't have one waiter, we just got whoever saw that we didn't have our drinks in 10 minutes and whoever else passing by. We overheard other people from other tables with the same problem. We had to pay $3 for breadsticks that was a tiny small basket.\t\n\t\nOur food came out after a long while and was put on the table by the waitress and walked away without saying anything. The bustboy came when we were almost done to bring parmesean. My chicken was very dry and the sauce was bland. The salad had Italian dressing just poured in the middle and nothing was mixed. The parmesean was the only service we got during our meal.\t\n\t\n$16 for bland chicken, no presentation, bad service and hostess wasn't even properly dressed. Never going back.

For over 20 years I have dined with the Cameras on a regualar basis. And during this time time I have learned that my favorite meal is anything that ends in a vowel! \t\n\t\nMy recommendation is to not limit yourself to what you see on the menu. Ask the waiter for specials and anything that Mario, the genius in the kitchen, may come up with. Frenchie's is full of wonderful surprises! \t\n\t\nI always assumed that Italian food was spaghetti with meatballs. Little did I know. The seafood dishes are better than anything Kemah has to offer. Now for the best part, desert. The Chocolate Almondine cake is something very special. \t\n\t\nEnjoy the evening and get to know the family, they are wonderful and caring. We will always return to our little piece Italy in Clear Lake

What can you say about this little hole in the wall but OUTSTANDING. The Eggplant Parmesian was OUTSTANDING, the Lasagna was OUTSTANDING. The Desserts were BEYOND OUTSTANDING.
By mark35 at Citysearch June 10, 2005 at 12:00 AMBetter Italian food than anywhere in Houston...
Frenchie's is one of a kind. Not only will the owners and staff remember your name, the food is truly OUTSTANDING, with generous portions. I don't think it is overpriced at all, especially compared to those "italian" chain restaurants on every highway feeder road. The eggplant parmesean is the best I've ever had. Anywhere.
By wanda91 at Citysearch May 20, 2005 at 05:33 PMWorth the wait and the weight!
Absolutely the finest Italian food I have ever eaten! The food is a heavenly experience. I highly recommend the grilled trio of scallops, veal and shrimp in white wine lemon caper sauce, lightly breaded. I don't believe I have ever had anything so wonderful. Great wine list as well. Yeah, you may have to wait a little while on a table, but I can promise you an event that will change your life! Prepare to make an evening of it. You won't be sorry.
