About West Palm Beach, FL
West Palm Beach, the oldest incorporated city in South Florida, has a reputation as being one of the most affluent, as well. Like many other cities in the southern part of the state, West Palm Beach boomed in the 1920s and quickly gained notice for its rich cultural offerings. The city, which is home to numerous celebrities, has seen a rebirth of sorts in recent decades, as newcomers embrace the old architecture and continue to add to the colorful and vibrant landscape. Modern attractions include the Trump Plaza, the CityPlace shopping and entertainment district and the Clematis Street section. In the spring, baseball's Florida Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals train in the nearby town of Jupiter.
