Cool Breeze Boat and Jet Ski Rentals

Rented a deck boat for 6 hrs. 2 in party experienced boaters, Upon return we were charged almost twice as much as estimated cost of gas and for a new prop. We were told prop would have to be replaced. No damage could be seen by naked eye, no dents, bends or damage only paint removal due to normal wear and tear. When we asked for the old prop to be returned to us since we were essentially buying it, the price changed from $200 to $75 for refurbishing. While brochure and web prices are good the business practices are questionable. Lesson learned - take pictures of boat inside, outside and underside before leaving dock. ask how many gallons can be expected to be used and price per gallon instead of how much gas will cost. Will never do business here again. ...read more

C.A.R.E Program.....

Years ago I developed what we call the C.A.R.E. Program (Captains Arranging a Relaxing Experience) which evolved from the number of woman and children that would like to enjoy the outdoors but are often left behind!!. This is your chance!! Often to many time intimidation deters woman from trying something new! The pressure and intimidation that is put on them by others can sometimes be too much for them to enjoy the sport that they are trying to learn! We have taken that fear out of that equation!!  I have seen it myself!!  This is why we offer the C.A.R.E Program!! No pressure, No yelling, No rushing, just a teaching, learning and relaxing experience on the water. "We want to create memories not Mayhem" Woman can come out with there friends, enjoy a relaxing day of instruction and not have to worry about anybody yelling because there tangling line, not casting to the right spot, loosing fish or even just baiting there own hook!! The only thing you have to worry about is going back home and being able to out fish your husband or friends!! Our seminars are either done on the 22' Ranger bay boat, Kayaks or from the shore. Individual instruction to group instruction! Whatever your needs are and whatever your skill level may be....WE CARE.....!!!So the next time your on the water or maybe you know someone that would like to experience the outdoors, fishing, Kayaking and might be a little intimidated by the whole experience please be a part of the C.A.R.E Program!!And as Always "Take a Kid Fishing"     ...read more

I Wish I Had Your Job

"I Wish I Had Your Job"   "I wish I had your Job"…..If you only knew how many times a week I hear those words, if they did have my job for a week most would end up unemployed or would quite! I do admit my job is AWESOME but, being a Charter Captain is not all glamour and as easy as everyone thinks!! It the toughest and most rewarding job you will ever have and I wouldn't trade it for anything, however you do need to look at the big picture! Most people only see my job as being from the time I pick them up until the time they leave….Nice thought….Here is a glimpse into what most of our days are really like!! Last night I left the house at 7pm and was out for three to four hrs catching ladyfish for cut bait for today's charter. I got home put the bait in the freezer and I went to sleep at 1am. I was back up at 4am to get live white bait and some shrimp! I hooked up the boat and netted bait from 5am to about 7am! I picked up my clients at around 715am and started fishing at 730am! After fishing hard all day to make sure my clients have a memorable time and catch fish I finished up at about 4pm. So far I'm at about a 12 hour work day and that doesn't include the four hour the night before catching bait while everyone else was home watching TV or relaxing! But wait now the real work begins!! I need to clean the boat, clean and oil all the equipment, change the line on the reel because loosing a big fish or a fish of a life time for a client because of bad line is not an option! So now with any luck I should be done before 9pm!! Now you're at a 17-hour workday! Dinner at 930pm a shower and off to bed by 10pm. That is our workday! They are long days, sometime crazy and hectic but always full of pressure to perform! My Clients expect nothing less then perfection, they are paying me to put them on fish and you need to perform for them! If you go to your job everyday and don't perform to your bosses expectations you get fired….Me too!! Therefore, for those of you who want my job or want to be a Charter Captain you had better love what you do and be prepared to put in long days but the rewards great! Seeing a client catch there first tarpon, redfish, or snook is incredible! Being paid to share my love of the sport with others is unimaginable! To hear the excitement in there voice, and to see the expression on there faces is worth everything you have gone threw to get them that memory! But the one thing that I always remember at the end of my day is the two words I hear from my clients….Thank You….and that is priceless!   ...read more
