Tallahassee, the capital city of Florida, is located in the Southern end of the Red Hills region region of Florida. It is governed by the Leon County. Tallahassee is known as the regional center for Scientific Research. The Florida A&M University and the Florida State University are located here along with many other colleges. Major attractions include the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, which is the largest and highest-powered magnet research laboratory in the world and Myers Park. Each year in the mid-October season, a Greek Food Festival is held by the Holy Mother of God Greek Orthodox Church to give the community a taste of Greek food, Greek music, Greek culture, Greek dancing, and entertainment. Among the biggest companies in Tallahassee are the Municipal Code Corporation, and the Florida Chamber of Commerce. The biggest schools here are the Florida State University High School and the Florida A&M University Developmental Research School. One of the best places to visit when you are in Tallahassee is the Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park. Famous persons from Tallahassee include Faye Dunaway and Rita Coolidge.
