"Fins Across Florida: Tampa Bay Tarpon" - Our current project

AUGUST 2010 - Greetings from the Outdoor Arts Foundation! Fins Across Florida: Tampa Bay Tarpon            We have a new creative public arts project underway, a community effort to help preserve the gulf. It provides a great way to promote your business, while helping two worthy not-for-profit organizations. Now Seeking Sponsors and Artists for our "Fins Across Florida: Tampa Bay Tarpon" project. http://www.facebook.com/note.php?created&&suggest&note_id=115166318533252&id=117453891635122 An exciting new project is now underway, brought to you by the Outdoor Arts Foundation. Fifty or more large, artistically decorated fiberglass tarpon wall sculptures will be displayed throughout the Tampa Bay area during 2010 and 2011. Talented artists will be paired with forward-thinking business sponsors who care about conservation, protecting our environment, and supporting the arts and local artists. Sponsors will choose the artist to decorate their tarpon, with the help of the Outdoor Arts Foundation. The completed tarpon will be displayed in "schools" in large public venues, such as Tampa International Airport or Westshore Plaza, as a community exhibition. They may also be displayed indoors or outdoors at sponsors' places of business. After the display period, from February through November of 2011, sponsors may keep their tarpon, their own unique work of art. We bring art to the public to enrich our community, and recognition to the sponsoring companies or organizations. This public art project is designed: *  To protect and restore Tampa Bay's estuary and our delicate ecosystem along Florida's Gulf Coast *  To beautify the Tampa Bay area through creative artistic endeavors, and support artists                       - and will benefit two not-for-profit organizations, "Tampa Bay Watch" and the "Outdoor Arts Foundation." Tampa Bay Watch     http://tampabaywatch.org/ Outdoor Arts Foundation http://www.outdoorartsfoundation.com/ The Outdoor Arts Foundation has achieved noticeable success in the past with fiberglass animal projects, such as the "Tampa Bay Tour of Turtles", and "Manatee Menagerie". We've been a leader, going forward with our public art projects. As we partner with Tampa Bay Watch to introduce Fins Across Florida, a State-wide endeavor, we once again exhibit leadership with the Tampa Bay Tarpon project. Tampa Bay is the first area displaying its own creative creatures, choosing the tarpon as our theme fish. Each region throughout Florida will have its own fish, with future projects featuring other species indigenous to Florida, such as the grouper, sailfish, snook, mahi mahi, spotted trout, pompano and large mouth bass. Sixteen fish have been designed for cities to choose from. Our tarpon will serve as a model, setting the bar for what can be accomplished when art is combined with environmental awareness in a community-wide project. Due to the recent gulf oil spill disaster, Americans are greatly concerned with the effect the pollution will have upon our beautiful ecosystem, and all eyes are upon us. People are frustrated and want to know what can be done. You can help by getting involved with this important and timely project. Help us publicize our clean beaches, to encourage tourism. Let the public know you care. Stand up as a proud Floridian by taking this positive action and displaying your special, unique work of art. This project is currently in progress, so please contact us as soon as possible. We provide PDF files by Email with all of the information that sponsors and artists need in order to participate in the project.
