On Friday I had the pleasure of working with the owners of The Sterling Sun Jewelry and Gifts on a fundraiser for Making Strides against Breast Cancer. I just love this little shop! They have beautiful sterling pieces in many price points plus a really nice selection of handmade beaded jewelry. Since they have done a few offers with Beach Dealsand have a coupon on Beach Bux, I have spent a lot of time getting to know the shop, what they offer and I've also gotten to know the owners, Paige and Jimmy Wiselogel. Last Tuesday, Leslie and I were honored to have been invited to attend the preliminary opening of The Wicked Wheel and what a treat it was!The décor of the restaurant has a Biker Theme, and the bar is set up with motorcycles as seats. There are vintage bikes hanging from the ceiling. The restaurant is like a museum for Bikers.We were greeted with the friendly hostess staff as we arrived and seated immediately to enjoy lunch. Once seated, we were promptly approached by our server Taylor. She was so nice and informative to our questions about the menu.We ordered our drinks and looked over the new menu with enthusiasm, deciding on the appetizer of “Hog Shrimp”, which consisted of (2) healthy skewers of bacon wrapped shrimp served with a marvelous “Wicked Sauce”. We were both impressed by the generous serving of this appetizer and the sauce was AMAZING. It took me over three years to finally check out Flamingo Joe's Grill and Seafood but recently a friend suggested we meet there for lunch and I am glad she did. It was really worth the visit! The place is small inside with a patio out back. You really get the casual beach town feel when you are there. Flamingo Joe's is a "Fast Casual" style restaurant with no table service and a window for ordering and the service is top notch for this style restaurant. The menu offers typical seafood options found all over this beach and very non-typical burgers, such as the Island Burger, with a pineapple ring, cheese and huli sauce (we'll get to that in a minute..).
