East Lake Eye Care

I lost a gas rigid contact lens and need a replacement. I contacted East Lake Eye Care (previously Bender Eye Care) and they shredded my medical records for the last 33 years because I have not been there for 5 years. I had no idea what my prescription was or the contract brand\\model name. I have been wearing gas rigid contacts for 30 years. The rigid model allow my eyesight not to chance much over time, that is why I haven't need to get new contacts in 5 years. Anyway, Elliot at East Eye Care showed no compassion and wanted $200.00 for an exam and contact fitting. Needless to say, why would I pay $200 to someone that destroyed 33 years of eye care history? Per my conversation with other eye doctors, most are scanning records and storing them on CD’s to save space. My new eye doctor, Dr. Claffie, said that I would not need to worry about her eye care facility deleting my records for 10-15 years. So, the word of advice here is; if you value your medical history, I would not recommend going to East Lake Eye Care. They don’t care and that’s the bottom line. ...read more

My experience started ith a broken pair of glasses which I did not purchase at this office. I just walked in off the street and asked if they could fix my broken frame. The office was beautiful inside and they greeted me very nicely. The optician was very friendly and offered me a cupcake snack while he inspected my glasses. Fifteen minutes later he came back and had perfectly repaired them, changed my nose pads and cleaned them for me. I had surley thought that my glasses were gonners but it was a miracle. Yeah, I could see again. I asked how much were the charges and they told me that they do not charge for repairs or adjustments no matter where I bought them. What a pleasant surprise, it made my day. They were so nice that I made my next eye appointment there. After forty years, that was the most thorough eye exam I ever had. The entire office was professional, friendly, and honest from top to bottom. I now bring all of my family there and have recommended East Lake Eyecare to sever ...read more

This is far the best medical office experience I have ever had. Most medical offices I have been to never acknowedge your presence when you walk in, but not this one. I had WHITE GLOVE treatment all the way down the line. They all must have taken the Ritz-Carlton customer service school. FRIENDLY-COURTEOUS-PROFESSIONAL. I had a really bad eye problem and the doctor addressed every aspect of resolving this. I have been back two more times and was fitted with contact lenses and glasses. Both are terrific. Everyone just loves the way I look in my new fash'in specs. The optician was great,I would have never selected these on my own. Everyone should make an appoinment with this office. ...read more
