My daughter has been working for a short time now with Jennifer and I could not be happier with the results. Her test scores have drastically improved and her enthusiasm and confidence about her work is soaring! I would highly recommend Jennifer as a tutor. Her organizational skills in her "school studio" is beyond impressive. Within this learning environment, Jennifer has every learning tool to help her students achieve their academic goals. ...read more

Individualized SAT / ACT Prep Available

I provide individualized, customized tutoring to prepare students for the SAT and the ACT. Note that I did NOT say that I provide a “test prep course”. Is there a difference?  ... YES, there is!  Inherently, "test prep courses" focus on the needs of the masses, not YOUR CHILD, the individual. Companies that offer prep courses tell you that they spend X hours on Critical Reading, Y hours on Math, and Z hours on Writing... before they even meet your child! That doesn't make sense!  We all know that different people have different strengths and weaknesses. Therefore, students preparing for the SAT or ACT need different amounts of work in different areas. When I first meet a new student, I give a diagnostic test, then provide a skill-by-skill breakdown of the results (including my observations of test-taking strategies that they used). Then, I analyze his/her strengths and weaknesses to create a tutoring plan, based on his/her needs (and your budget)! In my customized tutoring, your child will spend the majority of his/her time on concepts that are difficult for him/her, and briefly review those that he/she knows. I also teach students to maximize their scores by using test-taking strategies specific to their test-taking styles and skills.  In contrast, students in "prep classes" often waste their time (and your money) going over skills that they know, then rushing over concepts that they do not understand. Test prep courses also lead students to believe, erroneously, that there are shortcuts for "beating" the test. Which option do you want for your child?  My students have been INCREDIBLY successful meeting or exceeding their SAT / ACT goals, and even more importantly, many report that they now understand math and grammar in much deeper ways. I happily provide references! Tutoring be as little as $30/hrdepending on the length of the sessions and the type of payment plan that you select.  Seeds of Knowledge Tutoring www.Seeds-of-Knowledge.com ...read more
