Mt Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church

This is one of the most spirit filled, accomplished and recognized church in Orlando, Florida. I am the youth minister and have been a member for more than 25 years. The people are loving and kind. The church is in the heart of people. The pastor is a student of the word of God and is a dynamic preacher and teacher. Come join us...and see for yourself!! Don't believe the haters or the outsiders. Sometimes one of the biggest obstacles a person's life is being able to look into the mirror and deal with self, accept responsibility, own it, pray and ask the Lord for transformation. God and the Mt. Pleasant family loves you and there's nothing you could do about it"! Be blessed and be a blessing. ...read more

HOPE! It makes us different

“One of these things is not like the others.  One of these things is not the same.”  Oh, Sesame Street…fond memories.  Does anyone remember that song?  If not click this link, relive your child hood, and then come back and finish reading…Sesame Street Memories Just thinking about the big things that makes us different from those in the world.  It isn’t that we were created better, it’s not that we don’t have problems, it’s not that we don’t have struggles.  It’s the fact that we have hope.  In scripture the word hope is defined as “a strong and confident expectation.”  Of what? Well that’s what sets us apart.  Our strong and confident expectation isn’t of something bad happening or there is nothing that can be done.  It’s that everything will be alright!  Because we belong to the creator of all things, the king of kings and the Lord of lords, we have a strong and confident expectation that we and things we are attached to are going to be fine.  Hard times come to everyone, but it’s our Hope that allows us to face these things and move on. That doesn’t mean that WE are better than anyone else in the world.  It means the one we serve is greater than all.  Look at what David said concerning hope. Psalm 91:7 “Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you.” This doesn’t say the evil won’t come around or be present, but it does say that it won’t touch you.  That is the hope that we have.  Even in death the apostle Paul said “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.”  or “To depart and be with Christ which is FAR better.”  That’s what Christians have that sets us apart.  The worst of the worst that comes against us can’t take away our HOPE that everything is going to be ok. Everyone says that dark days are ahead.  Is there anything that can be done?  I don’t know about you, but I sure HOPE so. ...read more
