Nathaniel'sHope has been invited by Macy's to participate in their Shop for a Cause campaign. With a $5 or more donation to Nathaniel's Hope programs, you can receive as a thank you gift a Macy's Shop for a Cause ticket.  This is a special discounted shopping pass for Saturday, August 25th that also enters you into a drawing for a $500 Macy's gift certificate.  Shopping passes can be used online or in the store. These passes make excellent employee or customer thank you gifts.  The $5 will go to fuel our free programs for children with special needs.  We are currently focusing on building our Buddy Break program which is a free parent's day out program for children with special needs and their siblings.  This past weekend we trained 6 new locations.  We are only able to provide this much needed free service because of generous donations of friends like you. We are about to open our free toy store for our "VIP" kids.  130 Area Walgreens stores are collecting toy donations for us.  We are blessed to be partnering with Walgreens.  They have been incredibly generous with us and have not only helped with the toy collection, but will be keeping the shelves stocked with the donated toys, wrapping presents for the families and cooking a hamburgers and hot dogs for our hungry families. The need is so great this year.  Last year we were able to get toys in the hands of just over 1,300 special needs kids who would have gone without.  We have not advertised yet this year and as of yesterday, we have over 2,000 pre-registered children with special needs who need toys.  And the stories that the families are sending us are heart breaking....... So many more of our families are in temporary housing or are homeless.  This is difficult with any family, but for a family with a special needs child it can be absolutely devastating to their mental and physical well being. Please help us spread the word of this incredible need.   If you want to help, please call our offices 407-857-8224 to plug in as a volunteer.  Our toy store will be in a warehouse on the south side of town, not far from the OIA / McCoy Airport.  Our store will operate Friday 12/16-Sunday 12/18. After that date, the warehouse will be used to pack toys for special deliveries to area hospitals and home bound VIP kids - and that takes volunteers as well.
