Our local real estate market has been stablizing for a few months. We are showing a strong reduction in inventory of homes for sale and a higher demand for certain price ranges. The state of Florida is also showing promising signs of recovery and some areas of Florida are showing increased pricing. For instance, Trulia, a well known real estate website with over 17 million visitors per month, shows on their market trend reports, an 11% increase in sale prices in The Villages this quarter from the previous quarter this year. The inventory in The Villages is also lower than past months. These trends show that demand is up and buyers are willing to pay more to get what they want in the Villages. Also, CNN Money reported that Fiserv, a well known analytics firm, expects Ocala to be a bright spot in the nation for increasing home prices in the coming 12 months starting in June 2012.
