Dr. Kevin Lam

I went to see Dr. Kevin Lam after a trip to the ER for a severe dislocated and fractured mid foot. The ER Dr. informed me I needed surgery when swelling subsided and dismissed me with pain meds. I was in agony!!!! Dr Lam took me in the next day and spend several hours with me...gave me a nerve block and fixed the dislocation as best he could to relieve the pain while I awaitied surgery. Followed up with me several time to ensure I was ok. I’m convinced if not for Dr. Lam, I would have been in intolerable pain and unable to work for the three weeks from my accident until my surgery. ...read more

They are: - incompetent at making appointments - incompetent at keeping appointments - incapable at taking ownership for their mistakes - Rude and disrespectful when they do make mistakes - Arrogant, in that as a dentist they offer orthodontia and other services outside their areas of expertise We used to like this office, that's until they began overbooking their appointments and sending us away when they did! They do not take accountability for their mistakes, leaving you without your booked appointment... asking you to wait another hour or reschedule and waste another morning. No, instead they say "Well, I'm sorry, but our computer did this." Sorry guys, YOU messed up TWO appointments, not your computer. Three weeks prior to my appointment I doubled checked the time with them, confirming an appointment at 9am. When I got there that morning, they tell me they overbooked and took the other client first! When I said I had booked this six months ago, they were raised their voices and said the other client did to, at another office. I mentioned my appoint was booked at this office, so shouldn't that be honored? No. Worse yet, I rebook for two days later... show up... and they LOST that appointment too! Apologies? No. Excuses... abundant. PLUS... these people were very rude, they actually said to me "Why don't you make an appointment with your other dentist." Me: 'What other dentist, you're my dentist." Them: "Where you get your dental work done." Me: "My orthodontia? He's an Orthodontist, not a dentist!" Them: "oh." I am not exaggerating. This was the actual conversation yesterday, when they botched up the second appointment. Naples has a ton of dentists... and plenty that are willing to be both competent and professional. SKIP this one and find another. Your time, and money, will be better spent. ...read more

They have a wonderful professional staff and there doctors know what they how to treat your pet and help solve the problem or illness. My French Bulldog had a neck injury and is only 3 years old. Options To Enhance Your Smile!

At Smilecreator Of Naples, we have many options available to enhance your smile and we make sure you understand the process from start to finish. With so many options to choose from, it all starts with an in-office consultation. We will assess your smile, ask what you like and don’t like and discuss options available for you. Some of the options include something as simple as whitening your teeth, to replacing teeth with dental implants. We also have clear alternatives to straighten your teeth. Teeth Whitening It’s common to lose your dazzling white smile over time, this comes naturally as your teeth absorb various chemicals from food or drinks or it could be from poor dental hygiene. We start with an in-office cleaning and whitening and create a custom mouthpiece tray that ensures the right amount of whitening solution reaches your teeth. Although whitening products will brighten your teeth, keep in mind it is still important to continue with daily oral hygiene by brushing twice a day, flossing at least once a day, and rinsing with fluoride mouthwash. Clear Aligner Trays Clear aligners are a more desirable alternative to metal braces, due to being removable, less noticeable, convenient and less painful. Keep in mind, aligners are a perfect fit if you are only looking for minor corrections. Dental Implants No more missing teeth or loose dentures! Dental Implants are a much better alternative to removable dentures. Implants are surgically connected to your jawbone, they look and function like a real tooth. No one will know other than you and your dentist! Dental Implants will last for a long time and won’t lose their white shade anytime soon. Crown Sometimes referenced as a cap, a crown will completely cover your tooth. Besides strengthening a damaged tooth, a crown can be used to improve its appearance, shape or alignment. Crowns are most likely a good option for any of the following: Protect a weak tooth Restore a broken tooth Cover a discolored tooth Cover a tooth with a large filling Provide a tooth-like shape on top of an implant Permanent crowns can last a long time if you take good care of them. Cosmetic dentistry can help just about anyone have a perfect smile, but you have to remember that the procedures can only do so much in restoring your original teeth. Prevention is always better than the cure, so make sure you practice good oral hygiene. Dr. Nilo Hernandez offers over 25 years of dental experience and has placed/restored over 15,000 dental implants. Smilecreator Of Naples (239) 564-3100 www.Smilecreator.com ...read more

Don’t Let PCI Code Changes Decrease Your Reimbursement

Summary: If there was any leeway for cardiologists to produce less-than-stellar documentation for PCI procedures, it’s gone. Unless you document specific detail and have a clear understanding of how to correctly use the new PCI codes, your reimbursement for these procedures could plummet. Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) CPT 2013 code changes are an example of Medicare bundling and revaluing established specialist procedures to offset the increase in revenue to primary care. This generally lowers your new code’s overall reimbursement, and in turn the money your practice brings in the door.CPT 2013 has introduced 13 new PCI base codes (92920-92944) and deleted six (92980-92996). In conjunction with the new bundled and revalued codes, the 2013 Physician Fee Schedule shows stenting reimbursements have been slashed by up to 20%. Accordingly, unless you are capturing all eligible reimbursement, your practice is going to feel the financial pain of these code changes harder than ever before.“We’re going to have to retrain ourselves on how to code for PCIs,” says coder and auditorTheresa Dix, CCS-P, CCP, CPMA, CCC, East Tennessee Heart Consultants, Knoxville, TN.
