On Saturday, November 29, 2014, my wife, went to The Shoe Warehouse, 933 Airport Rd. South, Naples to purchase a pair of shoes. At the checkout counter she was rushed through and signed the register receipt without special notice. Once home, on Sunday morning, she noticed the credit card charge of $583.00 for a single pair of shoes. Being sure there was a mistaken credit card entry (neither of us had ever seen a single pair of shoes costing $583.00) she returned to the store on Monday, December 1, 2014. Once at the store she spoke with the manager and was informed there was no mistake, the shoes she purchased do in fact cost $583.00. At that point she returned the unworn shoes and all packaging and was given a hand written note saying she has a store credit equal to the price of the shoes. The shoes were never worn, all packing material was returned the next business day. We cannot imagine a pair of shoes costing that much and would never have purchased them. My wife is seventy years old and is very upset over this, we cannot afford this expense. The store owner was rude and condescending. We believe the store management is simply taking advantage of an elderly woman, using a technicality, to pad their bottom line, at her expense. ...read more

Great selection of shoes but extremely pricey! And a horrible policy of no returns except for store credit. Went to this store yesterday and found myself being bounced from once salesperson to another....there was one blonde who was a salesperson but didn't wait on anyone! Extremely rude! Bought a pair of shoes for $400....came home and found on internet for less than half that price. Will not go back there again or encourage anyone else to do so! ...read more

In one of the first independent tests of third-party security suites on Windows 8, nearly all antivirus and anti-malware software tested well. What may surprise you is that even without a third-party suite, Windows 8 is relatively resistant to modern threats like zero-day attacks,according to the report. Independent German security suite evaluators AV-Test.org publish bimonthly tests that rate the effectiveness of the biggest Windows security suites out thereand rated all 26 of the suites they tested on Windows 8in January and February as "certified," including Windows 8 itself. This is because Windows 8 comes with the antivirus and anti-malware measures of Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) built-in and turned on. Basically,there's no such thing as an "unprotected" Windows 8 system. "Windows 8 now comes with Windows Defender," AV-Test CEO Andreas Marx said in an e-mail requesting clarification on the scores. "[It's] under a different name and quite nicely integrated in Windows 8, but the 'Protection' results are not much better when you compare Windows Defender (on Win 8) with MSE (on Win XP, Vista or 7)," he said. Several suites tested notably well. In this test,Bitdefender Internet Security 2013topped the paid suites, with a score of 17 out of 18.BullGuard Internet Security 13andKaspersky Internet Security 2013scored 16.5 and 16.0, respectively. On the free suite side, the best-performing software wasAVG AntiVirus Free 2013with 15.5 andAvast Free Antivirus 7at 15.0. It is also interesting to note that the FREE versions of antivirus software were all lower than their “for pay” counterparts. Two suites actuallydid worsethan the baseline Windows 8 with Windows Defender, which scored 11.5.Comodo Internet Security Premium 6.0andAhnLab V3 Internet Security 8.0both scored 10.0. Two suites barely performed better than Windows 8's baseline:Microworld's eScan Internet Security Suite14andNorman Security Suite Pro 10both hit 12.0. Marx also pointed out that during its tests;noneof the viruses tested had the ability to disable any of Windows 8 built-in security features.
