We are snow birds that visit Florida only during the winter months. As soon as we arrived we found a virus on our computer. Our neighbor told us about the Computer Tutor that helps seniors and gave us the number. The Tutor arrived the next day, picked up our laptop and returned it that evening virus free! Online Videos Will Make Your Web Site Better

We all know that YouTube is one of the most popular search engine Web sites on the Web, right?  Well, maybe that's not a fact that everyone knows but most of you have probably contributed to the success of YouTube by watching a few videos (or even posting one.)  It's a succesful and widely used site, as I noted last year when my 80-year old family member sent me a YouTube video and my 7-year old was talking about "Charlie Bit My Finger."  It is clearly a mainstream, informative and entertaining site! Since online video is so popular, it really is a ‘must have' for your Web site.  As you can see from YouTube, your video doesn't have to be 'studio produced' to be popular, and "videos" are no longer a time-consuming, expensive marketing venture.  You can create a good video in-house by using a moderately-priced video camera.  The topic can vary from a simple "About Us" type of video to a more elaborate one that shows your products (whether you sell new homes or specialized coffee or something in between). Once you have your video, we highly recommend adding it to YouTube and then embedding the video on your Web site.  YouTube makes this easy to do, and our clients can upload videos direcly using their EasyRemoteAdmin(TM) content management tools.  There is an added benefit to first posting your video to YouTube, as you will reach a wider audience and hopefully drive some traffic to your own site. The addition of an online video spokesperson is another type of online video that is becoming more popular and is a great way to deliver a message on your Web site.  See how our client atVirginia Homesis using the online spokesperson to promote theirWomen's Centricbuilding process. program.  This unique type of video is a successful tool to capture your Web site visitor's attention.  We expect to see more and more of these spokesperson videos in the near future. If you are interested in improving your Web site through the addition of video or with an online spokesperson video, please contact our Blue Tangerine Solutions team at 321-309-6900 or visit us online at www.BlueTangerineSolutions.com. ...read more

Experience and Expertise on Disaster (Hurricane) Prep!

In mid-July, our company President, Greg Bray, presented a seminar at the Indian River Chamber of Commerce office on the topic of "Disaster Preparedness for your Network." We became unwilling experts on the topic back in 2004, when Hurricanes Frances and Jean destroyed our physical offices.  Fortunately, due to some steps we had previously implemented we were able to continue working from remote locations.  While we realized that our clients cared about our predicament, we maintained an obligation to keep their Web sites up and running as efficient business tools — regardless of whether our offices had been damaged. In our seminar, Greg discussed many of the tools that can be used to ensure that your office will be able to continue operating in the event of an unforeseen disaster.  These included automated off-site data backups, VOIP phone systems, housing mission critical servers and applications in a data center or "the cloud", and having an self-managed Web site. We use this steps in our own operations.  For example, we use VOIP (voice over IP) phones that connect our team to each other from any where we are, whether we're in Switzerland for the summer (like or Marketing Director) or visiting family in Atlanta or Toronto.  As long as we have an Internet connection, our phone system will work as if we're all in the same building, enabling a cohesive phone system with easy transfers within the office.  If you are interested in saving money and improving your office efficiency with a VOIP phone system, please give us a call at 321-309-6900. Another item we discussed was the importance of having good network backups and off-site storage.  Off-site storage is not the same as taking a disk drive home with you at the end of each day.  We recommend using a strong off-site storage system to make sure that your mission critical files (client records, billing, proposals, home plans, etc.) are not lost or damaged in the event of an office disaster.  We can help with this, too. For more information on the business services that we offer outside of our well-known Web site development, please contact us at 321-309-6900 or at info@BlueTangerineSolutions.com ...read more
