We are having a positive experience at Beckman. The therapists are very positive and supportive. Since my daughter, who has a neuro-muscular conditon and everything that entails, has been going to Beckman for OT and Speech, she has made vast improvement. Their techniques and practices seemed to be very innovative and effective. Beckman is not the first therapy place we have used, so I have had exerience with other therapists. The other speech therapist she had been seeing before Debra Beckman did not think that my daughter had any potential for expressive language at all and seemed to have given up really trying. Most sessions she would just work with feeding and didn't even try speech. I was getting very annoyed. After just one session with Debra, she was making some vowel sounds after we introduced them to her using visual, auditory, and tactile techniques. The office is very clean and cheerful. It is designed and decorated with the kids in mind and doesn't seem like a clinic at all, but rather like a place to come to play and learn, thus my daughter looks forward to her visits. ...read more
