SUPER 8 Lake City Florida LOVES the RV Community
Ok, if a controversy starts a blog for us, let it be so. Being involved in tourism is wonderful, especially in such a natural and special place as Lake City, Florida, However, we aren't in a newsless internet bubble so matter how hard we try at Lake City Super 8 to be super friendly, super clean and simply super - there comes a time when we need to speak out. As it happens, by a news article written by our local printed newspaper this past week, our beautiful and friendly Lake City has been dragged in to a negative light. There is now lots of press, internet postings and talk that Lake City may not be an RV Friendly community in which to stop. Take a local newspaper, a national retailer and a city ordinance and you have quite a mess and a snowball of "stuff". 4 miles south from the raging debate, on the next exit, I-75, 423 and not within the limits of the city, is our establishment, Lake City Super 8, a RV campground, 2 gas stations, 2 park and ride lots, numerous eating establishments. The affect of most recent comments have gotten personal and hit us. What to do? Definately, getting in to the who, what, when, where of this situation is certainly messy, so we don't even want to go there. However, on behalf of our exit 423 and our business network, Lake City Super 8 wants to take this difficult situation and let the entire RV community know we do like you in Lake City, Florida - you are valued, appreciated and most certainly welcome. So, to show our sincere appreciation to all those RV Road Warriors, here is our offer. Starting today, February 3, 2011, if you are an RV on the road and need to stop overnight and rest, sleep a few hours, go out to eat in our wonderful town Super 8 Lake City is offering you our RV/Truck/Trailer Parking lot, one of the largest in North Florida for you to stay with us when you need it at no charge. All we ask is you sign in at the front desk when you arrive and tell us "Suzanne sent me" so we can assure you are comfortable on our property. So please, if you happen to be a member of the RV Community, a blogger, a news reporter - get out the work that Lake City Florida IS an RV Friendly Community especially at I-75, Exit 423.
